Swansea v Bristol City Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Swansea.com Stadium Date - 19 March 2023 Kick off - 12:30pm Following their 2-1 defeat at Millwall, next up for Russell Kenneth Alexander Martin’s sinking Swansea squad is a home fixture against mid-table Bristol City. On Tuesday evening, Millwall strengthened their position in the Championship play-off places as they held on to beat the Swans by 2-1. Charlie Cresswell's deflected shot put Millwall ahead before yet another error from Swans’ goalkeeper Andy Fisher saw Andreas Voglsammer double the Lions' lead. Ryan Manning quickly pulled a goal back for the Swans, who controlled much of the game but were made to pay - yet again - for their defensive frailties. The win lifts Millwall to fifth, five points clear of seventh place. The Swans are now just eight points above the bottom three in 17th, and are bottom of the ‘Current Form Table’ having taken only one point from their last six league fixtures. The following evening, Luton continued their promotion push in the Championship with a 1-0 win over Bristol City at Kenilworth Road. Carlton Morris' 16th goal of the season secured the Hatters a third consecutive victory and left them fourth, seven points off second-placed Sheffield United. Morris struck after just five minutes when Cody Drameh's brilliantly drilled cross from the right was perfect for the striker to head home. The Robins threw men forward at the end to try and force an undeserved leveller, but they were unable to find a way through as Town kept their 16th clean sheet of the season. The Swans have played the Robins on 76 previous occasions, winning 23, drawing 23 but losing 30. In last season’s corresponding Championship fixture, the Swans fought back from being a goal down to run out 3-1 winners: Turning to Sunday, this is a match where the Swans really need to get something from - ideally a win - but I have a feeling that the Robins will avenge last seasons’s defeat with a 1-3 away win. Hope I’m wrong
Lol lol No Taff that's today. Hogarths early..... Cheltenham Gold Cup Day and St Patricks Day. Not that I'm Irish but I do like a pi$$ up and a bet.In either order
Taff, I admire your iron resolve to be able to still enthusiastically put up these match day threads in the face of such adversity! As to the game... bah! Whatever. A cheeky 2 - 2. We'll just need another five draws to be safe then.
QPR play Birmingham and Rotherham play Cardiff, so we could end up dropping two places in the league. Then after the international break we have three games against our relegation rivals Cardiff, Huddersfield and Wigan. Massive game tomorrow, praying for a win.
QPR lose at home to Brum and our neighbours have their game called off due to a waterlogged pitch whilst leading 1-0. Good omens all round so it's a 2-1 win for the Swans
