Swansea City v QPR Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Swansea.com Stadium Date - 7 May 2022 Kick off - 12:30pm Following their 1-5 hammering away at Nottm Forest, next up for Russell Martin’s Swansea squad is the 46th and final match of the season, with QPR the visitors to the Swansea.com Stadium. Last Saturday, Sam Surridge's first career hat-trick helped Nottingham Forest thump Swansea 5-1 at a raucous City Ground. Forest went ahead when Cyrus Christie scored an own goal, but Michael Obafemi levelled for Swansea before the break. Surridge then scored a 21-minute hat-trick for Forest and Alex Mighten wriggled clear to add a fifth. The previous evening, a fighting second-half performance saw Sheffield United come from behind to beat Queens Park Rangers and ensure their bid for a Championship play-off place will remain in their hands going into the final day. In Mark Warburton's last home game as R's boss, his side led after a low-key first half through Charlie Austin's header from Albert Adomah's cross from deep. However, the sixth-placed Blades came out re-energised after the break, going close on several occasions before Iliman Ndiaye eventually levelled from close-range following some pinball action in the QPR box. The visitors continued to dominate and deservedly led when former R's defender Jack Robinson powered home a header from a clever free-kick routine, with substitute Conor Hourihane volleying in a third in stoppage time. The Swans have played QPR on 52 previous occasions, winning 16, losing 21 with 15 games drawn. In the corresponding fixture last season, Rangers ran out 1-0 winners: Turning to Saturday, I haven’t a scooby doo as to what will happen on Saturday, so I’m going for a boring 0-0 to bring the curtain down on a “so so” season. See you next season - God willing
I'm hopefully wrong but as its that last game with nothing to play for then a defeat 2-10 , ground half empty by halftime , then at full time players & families sauntering around at the end waving their goodbyes ( some permanently ) , nice break for a few weeks then with hope springing eternal or despondency creeping in when we find out who's going staying coming in etc. and so the cycle of supporting the Club continues
Thanks for your previews this season Taff....after the shambles of Forest and listening to the gaffers speech on Tuesday at the corporate Awards dinner I am erring on the side of cautious optimism for this game...3-0 to the Swans....
Flynn Downes said automatic promotion was the goal for next season. Must sort the defence out first I predict a lazy 1-0 home win in the sunshine. And to Taff - dedication beyond the call of duty again in supplying a match thread every week. Even being on holiday in some unknown place in the Canaries with no internet and having dropped his phone in the toilet can't stop him Well done.
Another season draws to a close. Thanks Taff for your excellent pre match write ups.I look forward to reading next seasons,a promotion season for us As far a Saturday goes,3-3. May I take this opportunity to wish all a fabulous summer
Cheers Taff, hope you're having a great time As regards the game... well it pains me to say a draw or away win. I may win the prediction league as a result but it's scant comfort Let's be honest, the result's a lottery at this point!
Thanks for a great effort all season Taff it's been appreciated by us all. Looking forward to QPR I am hopeful that everything will click including our defensive play! So it's a 3-1 win with Piroe getting two of them and hopefully not for the last time for the Swans.
Thanks for the match day threads Taff. Well I need a win for the prediction league, plus I’m make the trip, so Swans win 2/0. Plus the win would annoy my boys partners family as there all QPR fans.

Think you accidentally posted the wrong video there...surely you meant this one; Exactly as you said in the opening post, end of a 'so-so' season, bring on next year.
Happy to oblige. Taarabt left us and wondered for a number of years. He's now playing for Benfica, and at 32 showing his quality again. In many ways, a wasted talent.
