Well, there was a points " improvement " from 0 to 61. First ever League double over Cardiff. Oh, and a player scoring 20+ goals must surely also count.
Of course there are things that were positive, but the question was meant that as a team have they improved overall from the first game of the season until now - 46 league games later ? Personally I don’t think we have improved much if at all. I see the same mistakes, particularly with the goalkeeper and defence, made yesterday as in the first game away to Blackburn last August. We did well with Piroe and also Obafemi - albeit after a dodgy start for him. I think most of the fans are seeing the same issues over and over again, but these issues don’t seem to be getting sorted.
Perhaps the fans' expectations are too high. Perhaps Swansea City have found their niche, as a mid table Championship side Perhaps Steve Cooper deserved more appreciation, and respect, for what he achieved, and is still achieving, albeit elsewhere. Hundreds of football Club's would willingly swap places with Swansea City. I realise the above don't address your disappointment and concerns, but it is what it is. To quote Simply Red ---- " Money's too tight to mention ". That certainly holds true for most Club's. I don't see the American owners throwing endless sums of money around to satisfy the whims, and demands, of fickle football fans'. I know I wouldn't. Perhaps it's time to accept the status quo, as long as The Swans' don't go "" Down, down .... ".
I'll be having a Joe's (or two) next week Looks like I'll be a week too early for the sunshine though
Go easy on those Joe's. Just remember all those calories you'll have to burn off before next season starts.
Not a problem for me. I'm one of those lucky people who don't have to worry about what they eat. All my clothes are elasticated.
Mid table may be where we're at, but I still would hope to see progression in 46 games. I don't think we've seen that. I still prefer RM football to the miserable stuff we played under Cooper, but if next season has the same issues then maybe RM is not the manager for us. Many teams would obviously want to swap positions with us - generally the teams lower down the divisions or in a worse financial situation, but that's just like my Mam used to say to me when I didn't eat all my dinner : " There's people starving in the world who'd be glad to have what you have". Cooper did well in terms of getting us to the playoffs, I just didn't care to watch it - so for me it meant nothing. I don't demand spending crazy money, but I still want the people involved at the club to do their jobs as best they can. In terms of the insane money they get, I don't think that's too much to ask. I do wonder though, what are the ambitions of the American owners - do they want to take the club back to the PL or just tread water ?
I though after i posted "i hope that's not taken the wrong way" Of course what Taff does in his spare time is his own business
