It happened nearly 2 months ago and they did it to their other companies. I think it's as likely that they made a decision to do this and bulk changed them all.
I won't lie, it is. That said, I'm nowhere near 100% on it - the sole corporation issue tends to relate more to issues with Government, tax and company law (isn't it?). the PL are a law unto themselves, so I don't quite know how it affects their decision directly - it could, theoretically, have an impact on an impartial claim I suppose? I mean, they used one of these corporate sole's to buy into F1 recently. But I'm yet to see anyone comment from a position of authority on the issue. I scanned Twitter and noticed that ****ing Burnsie knobhead (Mouth of Tyne) get it completely wrong again saying it was the F1 acquisition; the change on NCUK and UKSA is something else. Specifically, the NCUK was the vehicle to purchase 80% of NUFC, I think? Still, lot of guesswork. Could be nothing, could be something. I still think someone else will be involved and probably out of the blue. NCUK could easily be about property in the City of Newcastle and those ties to RB; the acquisition of NUFC I would imagine is linked to wider property investment opportunities, as seen at City of Manchester Stadium and Kings Road.
No clue. I think you can argue it either way depending how full your glass is. If I was choosing to argue the positive argument I'd say that they changed it to help O&D test and did it to all of them so the PL could not just say it is bullshit look at your other companies; "you've obviously just done it to this one to get around us". But maybe they just realised across the companies that this structure is better for them so flipped them all. I'm going on the -ve side as it happened so long ago and we have heard nothing since. And I'm sick of having any hope.
If I was betting, I'd bet a large amount on the fact they went at the time they said they did (around a year ago). We didn't seem to fit the investment strategy and additionally they actually, specifically said they were withdrawing. It's only been Staveley's side claiming otherwise, and all the legal action doesn't involve the Saudi's only Ashley. However, recent developments could be something - but in all likelihood, aren't anything. Corporate Sole doesn't have any bearing on the PL's O&D farce.
The Saudi’s will never fully leave the table by the way. Some of the blueprints for what they want to bring to Saudi Arabia are utterly astonishing, and yes it’s in its infancy now but the dream and vision they have for SA is mega. They want the biggest and best, of everything, and that’s why they won’t buy a team from Italy or Germany or anywhere outside of England because the PL is the showcase of football. They’ll want the PL in Saudi, games with packed out ultra-modern stadiums and all sorts of over the top extras. They may pump money into your area or they may not, but if they pull it off it will all be for the benefit of Saudi Arabia and you guys will just be along for the ride.
