I read something about "why would you pay £340m for Newcastle". I agree it's overpriced....but not when you think it's £230m for the club and £110m of debt. Factor in Man City. Less than 15 years ago we're talking about a League One club. Today they have profits in excess of £500m. There's a lot of real estate potential, potential for things like Port Authority on the Tyne, the ground can reasonably easily be expanded - and filled - to around 70/80k, then there's the potential for the North East in general.
Don’t think the ground is easily expanded. Only side possible is the East Stand and that has the problem of the listed buildings behind it.
throw in the potential 15m for outstanding re-payments payments that are due to the club by other teams who have bought our players on the never never ….. Sissokho?????
I thought they said there was still room for potential expansion in the Gallowgate end even with the new development? (Genuine question)
Think didn’t Ashley “buy” that land meaning the Gallowgate couldn’t now be expanded. edit Got to laugh when genuine questions have to be prefaced with the statement that it’s a genuine question.
Fair point, though once the takeover doesn't go through he could always not sell that land back to the club
