Is the racing post a big move? Is working for their online content big? I've never read it. I've heard of it.

 

It's got a pretty big circulation amongst the horse racing fraternity and I reckon it can only be good for Jack.

 

Wonder if he has any knowledge or interest in horse racing. Or if its more of a "Social Media" type role.

 

More likely the latter - his tweet was referring to their 'online content'.

Is anyone here paying to see the athletic content? Is it worth it? I am struggling to see why I would pay for a site given just how much content there is out there free to view.

I also thought that whilst I believe someone said, he was doubling his money in moving, if he is to just be a written journalist again, is that not a step back from what he was doing?

Pinkun/EDP and all the websites mentioned in the title of this thread cover more than enough for me, and twitter is quicker for shorter news/rumours anyway. Unless The Athletic are going to pay NCFC for Michael Bailey to have access far beyond that afforded to the Pinkun/EDP, I'm not sure how he can come up with enough unique content to justify the cost. Even the discounted £30/year initial fee seems steep.

Reading the introductory piece from their Head of Football, they don't seem to be offering anything I can't get from free channels. It's just the convenience of it all being in one place.

From MB's perspective, I guess his profile was as big as it was ever going to get whilst with Archant, and he'd pretty much reached the top of the tree there. Maybe the Athletic gives him a chance to boost his profile on a national level, whilst still living in Norwich and covering NCFC. The extra money can't hurt either.

 

To be fair, they aren't asking for much more than the MFW scrounge, what was that? $3 a month?
