On buying the right players? Bit long winded and nothing we could not have come up with. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/what-cardiff-city-fans-can-17509396
Said before, I'll be more interested in who he gets rid of than who he signs. 6 out and 2 in would be a nice start though.
Nothing new. Early days but no rumours. Camarasa didn't feature at all for Palace today but I have seen reports he wants to go to mainland Europe. Pity. I'm not sure of Harris' spending abilities. When he arrived he said he had never spent more than £900k at Millwall compared to the number of times we have spent £1m+. However that size of spend has not given us much success whether it was McKay, Warnock or someone else. Perhaps Harris' skills are in signing lower value players as it appears were Warnock's. Just hope he has the contacts, influence and ability to persuade them to come to us and that he can turn them into a team to improve our position and give us the better quality football we want. P.S. Has Madine gone yet? Please........
What is new though is Harris allegedly being told he can buy some players in the window rather than look for loans.
Correct Nin but the key phrase is " vale for money acquisitions" so if he does spend then it is more likely to be Home Bargains not Harrods. Also, getting anyone in on loan usually requires a fee being paid. I guess if we can recoup any money from actually selling players rather than loaning them out or cancelling contracts then he will be able to use that as well.
Well I’d be happy with value for money and not ridiculous valuations like Bolton put on Madine. Also I reckon there must be some decent footballers out there not playing at the moment who could do a decent job at City but please no journeymen (Liam Feeney Greg Halford & Jamie Ward spring to mind) rather players looking to impress and gain a full time contract.
The most ridiculous thing about the valuation Bolton put on Madine was that City paid it. Thinking back, I can remember at the time we had a choice of Madine, Grabban and Dack in that January - who did we end up with?
He’s destined to join the exclusive club of strikers never to score for the City having played at least 10 games. Off hand I give you Kevin Campbell and Guylain Ndungu Nsungu (Dave) and of course Warren Feeney Anyone know of any others?
Nah Taff - he did get the credit for at least one. I was at the game against Ipswich in the early Slade era and I thought it was an own goal by them at the time. All I really remember about the game was the Whitts strike - vid below. Remember we were playing in red back then.......
