In 2011, the World Health Organization designated radio frequency radiation of the type emitted by Wi-Fi devices to be a ‘class 2B possible human carcinogen.’ Many independent experts now think this classification downplays the significant dangers posed by wireless technology – especially when you consider the thousands of peer-reviewed, non-industry funded studies by scientists and medical experts that show that Wi-Fi radiation is harmful, especially to children.

Lloyd’s of London understands the dangers of Wi-Fi radiation

Lloyd’s of London has now excluded any liability coverage for injuries, “directly or indirectly arising out of, resulting from or contributed to by electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic radiation, electromagnetism, radio waves or noise.” This includes the radio frequency radiation emitting from Wi-Fi and other wireless devices in schools. On February 18, 2015, the UK agent for Lloyd’s stated, “the Electromagnetic Fields Exclusion (Exclusion 32) is a General Insurance Exclusion and is applied across the market as standard. The purpose of the exclusion is to exclude cover for illnesses caused by continuous long-term non-ionizing radiation exposure i.e. through mobile phone usage.”

What are the best ways to protect yourself from Wi-Fi radiation?

Here are some simple ways to protect yourself from Wi-Fi radiation:

    • Hardwire your Internet connection: Use an Ethernet cable for your computer connection to avoid radio frequency radiation exposures. Remember to disable the built-in Wi-Fi on your computer once you have an Ethernet connection.
    • Turn off your router: If you keep your Wi-Fi router – turn it off at night and when you are not using it.
    • Keep your distance: Keep away from your computer when downloading large amounts of data on Wi-Fi.
    • Cell phone Wi-Fi: Activate the Wi-Fi on your cell phone only when accessing WiFi. Otherwise, turn it off.
    • Watch out for Wi-Fi: Limit, as much as possible, the time you spend in places with Wi-Fi such as, coffee shops and other public places.

So what Devices are the culprits to EMF Radiation?

    1) DECT wireless house phones

    2) WiFi Routers

    3) Smart Meters (Electricity)

    4) Wifi and Bluetooth input devices IE: Mouse and Keyboard

    5) Mobile Phones

All the above devices are a risk to health and have caused Brain Tumours and Leukaemia, and it's why Lloyds of London have moved to negate any exposure to claims arising from such devices in the home, school, or workplace, and they have done it for very good reason.

So what can you do regarding these common convenience technologies, well quit a lot actually, you need to get smart, and reduce your exposure to yourself and your family.

Firstly DECT wireless phones emit badly due to the base station, so either go wired with the house phone, or purchase an analogue wireless technology phone, or purchase the new Low radiation Siemens Gigaset DECT wireless phone systems. Link: http://www.emfields-solutions.com/phones/cordless.asp

Secondly WiFi Routers, are the next big emitters of EMF Radiation, and need managing, never leave them on when not in use (switch Off or unplug), and most importantly never leave them on at night, and never have them in the bedroom. Find a room in the house that gives the lowest signal strength to other rooms, how do you measure the signal strength? well you can purchase an EMF Radiation meter (best option) or download some apps from the android app market, such as 'WiFi Radiation Meter' and 'WiFi Signal Strength'.

Is there a way to reduce Radiation from a WiFi Router? Yes a DIY 'Faraday cage' will cut back the Radiation emissions, also if you have a Router with external antenna, then take the antenna off, this will reduce EMF emissions, (Signal will reduce also, but should still be acceptable). Never have the WiFi router on your desk unless you have the WiFI turned off, and are using the network cable, and you should always be more than 2 meters away from a Wifi Router at all times, WiFi radiation drops off significantly with distance (called the inverse square law).

Faraday Cage is the best for reducing EMF Radiation, a good quick way is to use kitchen foil (aluminium) to completely wrap the router (360 degrees, all sides and top and bottom), you will notice significant drop on your Radiation meter, once done. Router will run hotter.

Not much can be done about EMF Radiation from your Neighbours WiFi, other that talking to them and passing on the information, and suggesting they too turn off the Router at night before going to bed.

There will be new low Radiation Technology WiFi routers hitting the market soon, such as this one here, Link
    https://www.electrohealth.nl/73-low-radiation-wifi-accesspoints-jrs-eco-wifi

Smart Meters, if you have one of these in your home simply get rid, and go back to the standard meter, and if your supply company is pushing for you to go over to a smart meter, then tell them where to go.

Mobile phone. always use speaker phone to answer calls, avoid placing the phone to your head to answer calls, always have it on aeroplane mode when not in use and make sure Bluetooth and WiFi is always switched off when not in use, never answer a call when in a car, step outside of your vehicle, the car amplifies the signal and EMF Radiation.

Stay safe and healthy by being wise to the dangers of these new Technologies, children are more vulnerable to EMF Radiation than adults, hope this article helps to inform.........<ok>

Phil, I can seriously imagine you sat in your home made Faraday cage with your tin foil helmet on watching porn through a UV filter <laugh>

I hear Bacon,Butter, sugar, blah blah blah is bad for you also....If you listen to every warning that these scientists come up with you would live on bread and water in a cupboard somewhere too afraid to come out...The one that gets me is the Smoking. Ever since Sir Walter Raleigh brought tobacco back to this country people started to smoke and in years gone by you would be lucky to find anyone who didn't smoked. An amazing fact i read is the longest living race around the world are the Chinese,Japanese and Russians and Asia and these are also the heaviest smoking countries in the world. So whenever i hear something is bad for you it is not long before the government take the opportunity to introduce a tax that goes overboard.

Considering that China and Russia have the largest populations and in some areas considered to be 50 years behind everyone else then I don't suppose any ones taken any interest in their well-being

Why do you always make a crisis out of everything i write ???? its not a debate its a statement i read and that's all .....I believe smoking is not good for you but i also believe the government use these situations to raise taxes, This goes for everything they come up with they consider bad for you....Sugar is the flavour of the month this time and they want to put a tax on that which will result in anything that uses sugar will have to increase in price...

Dai, I don't know where you get your info from but Russia has one of the worst life expectancies in the world. Last time I looked the average male lived to 59 and the trend was downward. Japanese people mostly eat fish and I am not aware that they smoke heavily. As someone else on this site syas, get your fats right and then distort them.
