I thought I'd post some good news for a change . I've been suffering from prostate cancer and therefore I had the prostate removed in early December ,I had my follow up consultation this week and based on the blood tests and other checks it appears that I'm now cancer free . I appreciate this will be little comfort to some who've recently lost relatives and friends, but to those, never give up thinking there's not better days ahead in some shape or form because there is and I sincerely hope those who have lost family and friends will come through their grief sooner than they may think they can.
That’s great news, my dad had prostrate cancer, he was treated 16 years or so ago and is still with us. He is 86 this year and still cancer free.
Good on you Matthew, Prostrate cancer is a very slow growing cancer. Once middle age or above try and have a blood test yearly. Catch it early the easier is to treat. ........... last letter I got, was that they were pleased. that it was now almost undetectable. ..................... Anyway Matthew, you must be feeling bloody marvellous now.
Thanks all much appreciated, as i say mixed feelings when i posted it due to the recent announcements from other posters on here .May I propose a toast to everyone , Good health and happiness to everyone Cheers
That is wonderful news mate. It's such a huge weight off your shoulders - hard to explain what it's like living with cancer, the effect it has on you and your family. The uncertainty of any future. I was told I was cancer free in August last year, so I have a fair idea of the relief you and your family must be feeling right now. As you say, unfortunately not everyone is as lucky as we've been and no words can even come close to describing the sadness it leaves behind. Once again - it's wonderful news. To infinity and beyond.
Yes indeed it is good news and a positive outcome , I didn't realise that I had it as it was only by chance I went to the doctors. I'm so glad that there was good news for you, hopefully we can form a Club which will get bigger as the the survival rates increase , which they will . So gents get your selves checked , its only blood test and insist on one !!!!!!
