Because the BBC are clueless..! Exactly the right presenter for MOTD2, imo. Actually, I don't know the real reason. Someone said he wasn't liked by the pundits, and each week I look to see who it might be. They all seem to enjoy themselves in his company, so I think that's not correct.

Because he has a rather large soft spot for the Saints and that is not allowed!

Yeah he is a good pundit, but he lacks star billing. Claridge suffers the same problem, to a certain extent. Not that star billing bothers me.

The only pundits who annoy me are Garth Crooks and Paul Merson, because I actually feel like I could do their job better than them. Merson sort of makes up for it by being an entertaining personality though.

Garth crooks is useless and merson is a half wit.

The best are Gary Neville, Souness, Roy Keane is great and I quite like claridge.

Motd needs a good shake up, linekars become like val donaghan and what the **** is twitchy doing on there.

Sorry, nothing personal, most of that was general, not directed at you specifically.

It does annoy me that this topic keeps coming up, but if you weren't aware of that then fair enough.

Thanks for the response, glad to see some adult conversation putting an end to the misunderstanding, instead of tit for tat in fighting between members! Friends? <cheers>

I think at the end of the day it comes down to personal choices and understandings. Lawro was never involved with either Saints or Pompey other than maybe playing against either club maybe. My understanding was he was not too involved with Brighton either for that matter. In his Eyes he has never seen either club as anything else other than an a "also ran".
Claridge on the other hand being a bit more of a journey man and his association with Pompey gave him quite an insight into the workings of the south coast club teams. I too had heard the rumour that he was taking some children to St Mary's but I fancy it more likely to see the opposition rather than Saints.
As for opinions the are what they are just that....If they could predict accurately all results they would be multi millionaires and would not need to bother with being pundits on the TV. Lets face it if you predict the same result all through the season at some stage the chances are you are going to be right.....<laugh>

I can believe Claridge would take children to see Saints. He said once that we were a good team to watch. It would be cruel to get your kids fond of Pompey before their fate is decided.

Well if you sub the injured Lallana for Rodriguez, I only need Yoshida to score and I'm spot on!

Surely you mean another off day for the opposition?

Well if the overpaid Tit keeps predicting Saints to loose he will get one right sooner or later!

I don't know. I can see him mentioned the 'Nigel Adkins factor', and to honest that's amazingly a stronger reason that some that he's thrown out there this season. 'Going for a QPR win, because they've got to win at some point'.

It's not even his inexplicable love of QPR (and disbelief in Swansea) that I really enjoy, it's the fact that he lives in a world where the 'good teams' always beat the 'bad teams'...with the odd exception of Sunderland-Man U today. In the real world, only two teams are accumulating less than a point per game; in Lawro's universe, Fulham is on pace to net 33 points and finish a comfortable 14th.

Basically if you trawl around the reports, Chelsea only put their current reserve side out and it was all Benitez fault, we had absolutely no bearing on the result other than turning up.
