There must be a fair chance of either/both Zimmerman and/or Handley being fit before ManCity, but if not Tettey's experience against them could be valuable. Fingers crossed.
Obviously good luck to the lad, but I'm not really a fan. I can't get on with his writing style which I find not only for the main very dry but often overly preachy. That also for my money applies to his podcast work, where he not only is no MB but no JR. Maybe he'll grow into it? Some of the appeal to MFW for me is, the relatively interactive comments section, Martin Penney being perhaps the best example will often respond to comments on his articles (Maybe a canny move to keep his commented numbers up). But Conner rarely engaged and always has a far more empty comments section. Of course that could be for a menagery of reasons; Style, lack of engagement or just that Gowers takes the first article post match, then usually Penney and by the time the others all get a shot, points post match are mostly exhausted. Bah!
Just a thought - could Byram fill in at CB ? Not ideal I know but that's how Rusty got the gig originally when both Ayala and Whitbread went off in the first 30 mins against Bolton - Rusty filled in and never went back. If Byram could play CB it would allow Amadou to take up the DM role. As I say, just a thought out of left field on a boring Thursday morning.
I'm not sure about Byram, but in pre-season it was Lewis who we experimented with in that way. Heise looks a decent option if we had to do that, but I suspect Amadou will be deployed at CB if only Godfrey is fit of our genuine CB's. If we want 3 CB's for Citeh, then who knows, any one of our FB's could be given a go in a 3, though I wouldn't favour Arrons due to his vertically challenged frame. Bah!
I agree that Lewis would be the most likely FB to shift to CB, though this would be more likely in a back 3. Even when playing at LB, Lewis tends to drop back into a 3 at the back until Aarons and others have regained their defensive shape. In a back 2, however, Amadou is more likely to fill in. With Tettey fit again, Amadou could be shifted and get game time as well if Zimbo and Hanley are still out.
Todd Cantwell is starting to raise eyebrows: https://www.footballfancast.com/pre...-on-norwich-citys-surprise-star-todd-cantwell
Russell Martin was already familiar with the CB role before he signed for us, having played CB on a number of occasions under Lambert at Wycombe and Ferguson at Peterborough. He always said CB was his preferred position. Like others, I expect Amadou to be first choice at the moment, with Lewis dropping back if we shift to playing 3 at the back.
It's a ballache getting to the voting page but I finally made it and my vote for Pukki has been confirmed
Budweiser GotM nominees: https://www.premierleague.com/video/single/1337642 I haven't vote in this yet because my computer security says there is something wrong with the site. https://preml.ge/gotmaug19
I caught part of Countdown this morning and there was a lad from Wymondham on. Did you see it and do you know him?
Just out of interest I took a look at last season's table. The first week in November the three relegated sides occupied the 18th-20th spots. All had played 11 games Huddersfield had 6 points, Cardiff and Fulham had 5 each. GD respectively was -16,-15 and -18.
