Poor guy that got out. Not a great day for England that. Don’t know what to make of England at the moment, hard to judge given the constant rotation.
I firmly believe its total bs and wont benefit anyone when the tournaments come up later The fact is the side being picked is simply not good enough. Theres 3 or 4 nowhere near the level of test cricket and it shows.
So granted there are 3 batsmen and 2 bowlers who are missing and would probably go straight back into the team. However these who have been picked to replace the above are supposed to be the best in CC. So either they're not as advertised and its the wrong selection or CC isn't getting these players upto the standard needed.
You have to wonder dont you. I mean there was a time watching england I would be thinking oh Strauss, Hussain, cant stop getting out but in reality they were normally lbw where someone had to beat the bat. This lot have been throwing the bat at the ball and not seeing what's going on or not listening to the analysis. They are getting themselves out chasing wide balls and driving against the swing etc.
What a ****ing waste of a review. Must have known that was taking all three out, and was a light year away from hitting his bat. Dickhead.
Terrible collapse. This is why preconceived rotation plans from 6 months ago make zero sense. Zero. Theres players sat on their arses fully rested as ipl got cancelled available now but the plan says no?? Result is england b playing nz who are currently ranked 1 in the world and who are absolutely hammering us. A weather affected day saved england last time and this time till be all bit an innings defeat. A handy little knock from wood saved that ignominy. England are ****e in this series.
tbf England only produced the 2nd most woeful performance of the week West Indies lost to SA in 3 days. 97 & 162 all out
they are getting hammers by sam curran so far. Doesn't look like much batting practice has been gained from our sri lanka friends.
Top 20/20 action for last 3 games. England just hitting a bump but should win this if people follow through on Roy's absolute brilliant start. 43 from 30 needed to win series? Malan only doing just enough. Needs to accelerate. Morgan is just in. People need to go big
Very frantic with high scoring but also good bowling within the straight jacket of the format. Roy in particular showed you can actually be quality without being a slugger.
England White ball squad just on another level. Probably the best squad ever seen especially the batting unit. When you think don’t even include hales in there just ridiculous amount of ability. Hales Roy Malan Butler Morgan Stokes Bairstow 7 batsmen that would walk into every single ODI and T20 team in the world. Hundred starts today as well, wonder how different it’ll be from normal t20. I know changing to 5 ball or 10 ball overs which will be interesting to see what tactics are used. Other than that, feel like will be similar to t20 just with 20 balls less
yeah is really competitive but most also have the right approach as well. Its both the talent and the fact they know how to win at this level. Look at malan yesterday. doing "alright" he's playing a 50 over game. ticking along at a run a ball. If he had have stuck in we might well have lost the game! he goes and Livingstone comes in and he gets a 6 and is out next ball. but we instantly start getting on with it again. Jordan finishes the job running and did really well. Malan is a really good50 over player. not sure he's walk into the T20 teams though. bit harsh but thats the level of top top players around him. But buttler, Morgan, bairstow, stokes, ali, livingstone, roy, jordan, rashid, all really know how to go hard and with urgency. roy was absolutely brilliant last night. hold my beer stuff to buttler who just sottd and watched. the livingstone "emergence" is really positive but theres others after popping in like parkinson and mahmood so it all adds to the picture at each level. as for the 100, i don't see the point myself its just not that different enough surely
