Yet there are spinners out there who bend their arm by a higher degree or have decidedly 'dodgier' actions (some are cited and suspended) than Malinga does- yet they rarely get called out for it?
Aus to declare just after tea today, giving their bowlers 4 sessions to dismiss England on a wearing pitch that gradually takes more turn? Unless Broad takes 8-15 again, mind!
Yes Steve Smith happened again! Broad and Archer bowled very well, but are always coming to the end of a spell when Smith is coming in, he plays and misses about 5 times and then the 2nd line bowlers are just ripped apart and the openers are too once he is in.
Did you see the look on Steve Smith's face when the Australians convinced the umpires for a replacement? He knew that they had got one vastly superior and it swung way more.
Steve Smith has to be both the best batsman and biggest tit in the world. Urgh that odious little man, I can't stand him, yes I get it you pretty much single handedly retained the Ashes for your team, but you have no class! When England win you have various pictures of them bleary eyes in the morning.... thinking Flintoff here for one, but why mock the opposition like you do? Okay, you got away with one when Jack Leach bowled a no ball, why mock him like you did? Why cheat like you did? Why only a year long ban and back 'just in time' for the ashes when those Pakistani match fixers got 4 years? Also, why have we picked virtually the same team? Surly we have a batsman out there better than what we had playing this series? I want us to put a bowler as captain or something, because 'giving it to your best batsman' hardly ever works. Hussain wasn't our best batsman when he was made captain, but he was a good captain, good captaincy can make up for deficiencies elsewhere. Gaahhh, got to return to work tomorrow with Australians..... urgh....
England have named an unchanged squad for the fifth and final Ashes Test against Australia at The Oval.
Soft. Bairstow, Buttler and Roy have all underperformed so the selectors have missed a chance to look at someone else at the Oval with a view to the winter tour(s). As McNally might have said "it's delinquent"
England team for fifth Ashes Test: Joe Root (c), Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Joe Denly, Jack Leach, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes Overton and Roy dropped. Stokes to play as batsman and will not bowl Curren and Woakes come in.
