38 without loss. That's the highest opening partnership of the Test summer in England, surpassing William Porterfield and James McCollum's 32 for Ireland at Lord's. How times have changed!
It would appear that Jofra Archer is actually left handed. He signs autographs with his left hand, but is a right handed bowler. He has been seen bowling in the nets using his left hand, and can be a useful left arm spinner. The thought of him running in without the batsman know which hand the ball is going to come out of could be very interesting.
Depends on time to some extent. 200 ahead now, but I would have thought you would want 450 plus to feel safe.
Enough to give us enough time too to bowl them out as they chase a just attainable total... Sounds like my worst o level subject.. Maths!
Mine too! Will be interesting to see how things look at close. I reckon if we can keep men in then bat till lunch tomorrow and then go for it.
When a batsman is facing a bowler for the first time, he has to declare which arm and which side of the stumps ie right arm over, left arm round etc.
I think that Leach plans on a bit more batting practice yet. He is just getting his eye in this evening.
