Goes back to the circuits making it too easy for drivers to exceed track limits. There is no physical penalty for doing it, so everyone does. As ever, when its right and when its wrong and when its marginal, is open to debate and everyone has their views on it.
lol, I must admit, I did wonder if the nationalities had been different the decisions would have been, but Max wouldn't have got that place if he'd driven around it properly.
It can be simply rectified though, the white line defines the track. Either implement or don’t, like I have said many times the rules are often not complicated, it’s the unreasonable attempt to implement them at discretion that causes all the issues.
Track... line... grass If you want to be delicate then back to tarmac after 2m of grass, but they won't go off track any more if it's not made of asphalt.
Horner saying stewards say reason was Max gained an advantage by going off track. But surely every time a car puts all 4 wheels over the white line they gained a few thousandths of a second advantage had they not gone over the white line. Rules is rules, either 4 wheels over line allowed or not. Penalise all drivers exceeding track limits or none!!!
a few hundredths of a second gained from someone understeering a bit wide, I can deal with that, purposefully cutting a corner so you can overtake someone because they have closed the door and gaining a place and 3 points, it's a bit different.
Several drivers were repeatedly going wide at the penultimate corner lap after lap. If it wasn't an advantage why would they repeatedly do it? I think the Max decision was right. But based on the other decisions this race it was out of sync with the general trend.
I don't disagree, but surely a white line is a very easy thing to see. Thus it should be a very easy non subjective rule, not it's ok as long as you dont gain a place but gaining time is fine. I just want consistency on track limits.
well, we have the technology, as soon as the get 4-wheels over the white line you lose your electrical boost for 20 seconds.
