With Kane taking a knock to both ankles last night, and is out for a few weeks.......Will Spurs make an enquiry?
Kane will (most likely) be back before long, and I think Jose will be gone in the next year give or take, so I just don't know why Ings would jeopardise his England spot by going there. It's the Euros this summer and then the World Cup in November 2022.
This looked like a good piece of business...but perhaps there was a reason that he wasn't appreciated by his last team. Bringing him back sounded romantic at the time, but taking an ex back isn't always a good idea.
Oh boy, thanks Fran! I should have thought of that a few years ago ..... would have saved me a fortune!
I don't want to annoy anyone but he would be an idiot not to hold out for a bigger club right now. We have a great captain, but he is on board an aging ship which needs serious repairs. There is no money for repairs and the waters ahead look pretty choppy. This is the ownership league, deep down, and our owners are not winners.
If city do come knocking it would be a good move for him, guaranteed silverware, more money. And let’s face it as a club we are skint so we would sell if the offer met our valuation.
And we would buy someone awful with the 40% of the cash we were given to spend! Woohoo. Not that I am feeling negative.
No owners are business people, with regards to Man City they are very fortunate to have one of the most richest men in the world owning them, otherwise they would still be stuck in league 2. Man City imo aren’t a big club historically,it’s just money that’s got them where they are. We have a different business model and until a Jeff Bezos buys us unfortunately our model will stay the same. Ship or no ship we ain’t in that a bad position. Only one team can win the league ( we won’t win) and then it only leaves cups and you need to have some mighty luck en route to win one.
Or do we let him run down his contract then leave for free.....and we would still be skint and needing to replace him.
I think that was the business model 6 years ago. The model now is just cling on for dear life and hope you get lucky with a few transfers.
Listen to Martin Semmens interview of a few weeks ago and our business model hasn’t changed. Buy young, develop, then sell. Not changed, and he clearly said if a player asks to leave and it suits the club then they leave.
