Good Morning Everyone, Leeds took a giant step towards the play offs on Saturday evening as they thumped the mighty Brighton 2-0 at Elland Road. Two second half goals from Chris Wood saw Gary Men's men record their first victory our the seagulls in six season. Wood has now scored against 18 different teams in league competitions this season. More than anybody else in the Football League. Let's talk about Jansson. Looks increasingly like Monk dropped him for disciplinary reasons! What could he have done? Has the hype gone to his head, and Monk had to bring him down to Earth? How do we think Cooper did? When he almost sliced the ball into his own net, I was fearing the worst, but all in all, I think he settled down and did a good job. Leeds next opponents Reading (in a fortnight) beat the Wendies at the weekend whilst Huddersfield got mauled at the hands of Bristol City. To make things even better Fulham lost at home to Wolves. # Team Pl W D L F A GD Pts Last 6 1 Newcastle United 38 24 6 8 70 32 38 78 2 Brighton and Hove Albion 38 23 8 7 63 33 30 77 3 Huddersfield Town 37 22 5 10 47 43 4 71 4 Leeds United 38 21 6 11 52 36 16 69 5 Reading 38 20 7 11 51 49 2 67 6 Sheffield Wednesday 38 18 8 12 48 39 9 62 7 Fulham 38 16 13 9 66 47 19 61 8 Norwich City 38 16 9 13 65 56 9 57 9 Preston North End 38 15 12 11 53 47 6 57 10 Derby County 38 14 11 13 41 38 3 53 11 Barnsley 38 14 9 15 55 55 0 51 12 Aston Villa 38 13 12 13 39 39 0 51 13 Cardiff City 38 14 9 15 53 54 -1 51 14 Brentford 38 14 8 16 60 57 3 50 15 Queens Park Rangers 38 14 8 16 46 51 -5 50 16 Wolverhampton Wanderers 37 12 9 16 46 48 -2 45 17 Ipswich Town 38 10 15 13 38 47 -9 45 18 Birmingham City 38 11 12 15 38 54 -16 45 19 Bristol City 38 11 8 19 50 53 -3 41 20 Nottingham Forest 38 11 8 19 53 64 -11 41 21 Burton Albion 38 10 11 17 39 53 -14 41 22 Blackburn Rovers 38 9 13 16 46 57 -11 40 23 Wigan Athletic 38 8 10 20 31 44 -13 34 24 Rotherham United 38 4 5 29 33 87 -54 17 Last updated: March 19, 2017 4:35pm Key Promotion: 1st, 2nd Play Off: 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th Relegation: 22nd, 23rd, 24th
Morning all, a great win that has hopefully sealed a top 6 I thought Cooper did okay, at some stage we are going to need him due to players on bookings. No idea what Jansson did wrong, if I had to guess I would say nothing too serious as he was still on the bench. Everyone is going to dig deep for the exact reason why, rumours will surface, I just hope it isn't too damaging to him or the team.
Pontus tweeted congratulations to the lads yesterday and was chuffed to bits. He was now on his way to meet the National team and couldn't wait to be back. I expect he got a spanking from Monk to bring him down to earth maybe. A great win and puts us closer and hopefully by beating Reading we can kick on again and go for top 2 as Newcastle could only draw and Brighton who we beat are both starting to wobble, so its possible. Remember 82 points is the norm for auto, we have a possible 24 points still to play for making 93. top 2 will drop more points even if only drawing a few. possible. Green chuffed to bits for him and his hard earned new contract. Wood 26 goals is awesome well done. Come on someone else do the business
I thought it was a very good team performance on Saturday with some very good individual performances. I was particularly impressed at the way young Vierra is developing he reminds me of a young Norman Hunter. Morning btw.
Congratulations to Cooper as he has joined the Scotland squad, so 5 players on their travels now. Lets hope they come back fit
Morning all. Dont worry about Jansson or the rumours. In one of the early games, forums were alight when Monk took off Beradi, rumours of bust ups etc after he went down the tunnel disgusted. Guess what? It turned out he was simply injured. Great days work Saturday, Superb team performance and super atmosphere. What did we learn from that win? 1. We're not a one trick pony and now have several permutations if needed within squad. No Jansson or Ayling, two of our players of the year and they weren't missed 2 Do we need to fear anyone in the playoffs? Not at all. Were as good or better than anyone in this division given the crap start to the season. We also have a twelfth man in the fans that no other team in playoffs can come near to matching and the players are lifting their games as a result. 3. We have the best striker in the division by a distance and at this moment, the best defence, 3 goals conceded at Elland road in last 11 games, and the best keeper who thankfully will be around next season 4. We are blessed with undoubtedly the best management team in the division. A clear vision of what they want and how to achieve it and not afraid to make changes when necessary ie Doukara substitution, game winning move All of the above is just Eires opinion and open to debate. I wont be offended PS HMS Happy Clappy is now full to bursting point after Mighty. Chippy and the Wallies scrambled aboard

I'd like Jansson to get his yellow cards and his two game suspension out of the way in readiness for the play offs
Afternoon Eire, let's hope we have hit top form at exactly the right time. Everyone pulled together, and we deserved our 2 goal win. Monk, Clotet and Beattie are an amazing management team.
Afternoon mate, Monk should have sent Jansson on in the 90th minute with instructions to kick that **** Rosenior up in the air to get himself booked and get the suspensions out of the way,
