You factory ordered a new one then mate?

 

It’s a stock one on a 20 plate, was due for delivery end of March but obv that doesn’t count as essential work so **** knows when it’s being delivered now. I assume the **** has been Furloughed as I get no comms from him now.

So I’m suck with 2no wife cars and 0no Tel cars. Might pay the Merc off it’s only got 10 months left on the lease.

If it’s not been registered in your name you can likely get out of it given the current crisis. If you pay up the Merc it’ll cost you 10 months payments for **** all.

 

My wife’s new XC90 was delivered a few hours before the lockdown was announced. Her old one was supposed to be collected 2 days later. I allowed some breathing space in case something went wrong with either delivery or collection. Stupidly I didn’t factor in a global pandemic. Initially the lease company of the old car said I had to insure it, arrange an MOT and service (how exactly ?). It’s sorted now. We’re using it as a larder.

 

Yeah it’s all signed and the Mrs is 100% set on her new car now, I don’t blame her tbh, she ain’t gonna want to get back in a car that’s been driven around by junkies/****s for the last 6 weeks.

Which means I’ll end up in that car obviously. I don’t like that car, soft ride, slow, boring... I’ll have to see what it’s like when they return it, can you remap a lease car?

 

I like the XC90, nice car.

 

I know someone who did just that! Only the engine blew and the warranty was voided as the remap shows on the manufacturer diagnostic. Got a bill for 12 large, to repair a car he didn’t own and had about 6 months left on the lease. Not recommended lol.

That’ll be a no then. I might just run the contract down then and see when this new Focus RS drops. I’ll have some steel posts fitted on my drive and get myself a couple of Rottweilers as well.

I was thinking of ordering an EV or hybrid before all of this kicked off, putting it through the company and getting back into a company car. As the BIK on EV’s is now £0 for the new tax year. Hybrids can be as low as 5% depending on the range on electric only.

 

Yeah the problem is the charging with anything Plug In for me cos of the miles I put in, I’d defo consider hybrid.

Have you seen Hyundai are launching a Hydrogen Fuel Cell car this year?
