I was in the QE the day that Shearer was appointed manager.

Things worked out a bit better for me.

You need a dictionary for a description of Jealous ?

Anyway, to answer your question, how about playing in a cup final, having a fantastic day out at Wembley watching my team in a cup final,it wasnt just the match, the whole day was outstanding and will be fondly remembered for many a year, remind me of the last time you lot were in a cup final at Wembley.

    Trust me it won't.

It's only remembered if you win the cup. We've been to Wembley three times in the last 15 odd years, none of which ever get a mention on these boards, in the pub or in the stands.

To put this in to perspective, you're celebrating a feat achieved by the mighty Bradford City last season who at the time were in League Two.

You did well to get to the final, you put up a decent showing for 45 minutes but there is nothing to remember. Any story will start "remember when Borini scored at Wembley" to be quickly followed by a sigh of "Aye, then we went on to capitulate in the second half".

History doesn't remember losing finalists, it's why you don't remember when we last went to Wembley and it's why you probably couldn't tell me who came runners up in the Fa Cup and League Cup 5 years ago without using Google.

Piss & wind, mate. You're just remembering the result of the final. What about the journey there; the games you won en route, the goals, the trips with your mates? All that. And the build-up to the final itself?? If you're only going to remember the trophies you win you're going to be one miserable bastard, given both our clubs' record over the last 40-50 years...

p.s. we didn't even capitulate. We got undone by two outstanding goals, but they kept going forward.

We made it pretty far in Europe. If you're thinking we jealous because we couldn't experience the "day" i think you're off. Fans traveled to Greece, Russia, Portugal, France, Belgium, and the Ukraine. I'd take any of those over a day at wembley.

The Journey there? A Stadium three quarters empty in every round?

You'll remember the trip to Old Trafford (because you won and went through) and rightly so, your fans were in good voice and you took a cracking number of them there but that's basically where your journey started. Nobody is going to remember the early rounds, beating lower league teams in front of 10-15k crowds.

You may well remember the day for the next year or two, but years to come? Not a chance. Like I said it's not like we all reminisce about the day Shearer hit the post either side of Anelka & Overmars goals etc.

If you go down (not saying you will, but there's a chance) you'll probably even come to resent your day out at Wembley for all of the extra games.

On that basis I've never been jealous of them.
I just like to laugh that's all. It's good for the soul.

Funnily enough, the description of Jealous was purely to assist the likes of yourself to understand that we are NOT Jealous of Sunderland.
That's my fault, I should have made myself clear instead of making the assumption that you were clever enough to realise that.
Oh well, I wont do that again. In future I'll make anything I write much clearer for someone like you understand that bit easier.<ok>

Anyway, you played in a Cup Final - So what!
You had a good day out - So what!
Personally, I'd be worried if I had to rely on any football team to give me a good day out.

Don't confuse laughing at YOU, and taking the p*** as being some form of jealousy.
Most of us have had a good laugh this week. at things like Man City being lucky to win because of Yaya Toure and his fluke of a goal. <laugh>
You're not by some chance, one of the head cases that believes that are you?

FFS, if I was going to be jealous of any football club I would be looking at the likes of Bayern or Barcelona, not some lowly PL club who have won one trophy since the end of World War 2.

Jealous - Don't make me laugh......
