    Morning all

Grey but not actually raining yet. Was planning a trip to London on Wednesday but tube strike and flood damage to our local rail line may prevent it. Ground out 433 words this morning on 'The Morning Gift' (83,000 done now)...must be about 10 calories a word I think...

I'll have one of those please to celebrate both the opening of the new bar and the closing of the old (we should never think of selling it to Baz). Thanks AK.

Talking of cuisine, I am one to try local delicacies where ever I am in the world and once in the Loire I tried Anduiette (?) sausages which had a very distinct urea flavour and some very odd looking contents. Will be giving that a miss next time.

Whilst in Kenya I gave the monkey gizzard stew a miss it was on the Thika Hotel menu.

This talk will not be allowed. If selling the Nest to Laurence Bassini is seen again the offender will be force fed rams penis until they can take no more.

Once, in a small town in Thailand where few foreigners visited, I sat down for a meal in a restaurant. The menu was in Thai so I just pointed to something listed, reasoning that if the locals can eat it so can I. A couple of minutes later the waiter came back to tell me that the cook would not prepare the dish for me. On asking why the waiter replied, "He say you no eat it." I told the waiter to bring me something that the cook thought I would eat.

I still have no idea what it was that I wouldn't have eaten.

I don't like eating anything that smells really bad and andouillettes would make an open sewer smell sweet...
