What are your thoughts now on who will get into the automatic promotion and play off places? I don’t like to predict anything Swansea. Interested to know people’s thoughts whether including Swans or not.

Apparently 11 out of 12 Of The last teams leading at Xmas have gone up with Leeds being the exception! So are Norwich certs to go up?. With the impact of Covid all relegated teams are in with a chance as they have all seemed to keep their squads, which is unusual. Plus we have Stoke and Brentford I think will be in the mix. There is often a team that hits form around now that goes up, just hoping that is not Brentford.
I thought Middlesbrough were hitting form and Reading look good on their day.

What impact will the transfer window have?, some desperate PL teams could be raiding the Championship teams, who will suffer, I am hoping Bournemouth and Norwich get raided.

I don't think we'll maintain second position so automatic promotion is not an option .Staying in the remaining 4 places is more than doable and I'd be disappointed to see us drop out. As you say the two standout sides are Norwich & Bmouth and the others are no better than us .Players out from us , possibly Ayew but again for him the sticking point is the wages , other than that I can't see anyone going other than Roberts .That's the beauty of a side like ours , no super stars just a good team ethic .

Tony Pulis has been sacked as Sheffield Wednesday manager after 10 matches in charge with the club next to bottom of the Championship.

Wednesday made the announcement late on Monday.

"The performances and results have not been of the level expected since Tony Pulis was appointed," chairman Dejphon Chansiri said in a statement on the club website.

"There are also other issues which have had a bearing on this decision."

Wednesday said first-team coach Neil Thompson would take charge of the side until a permanent appointment was made, starting with Tuesday's game against Middlesbrough.

Former Stoke, West Brom and Middlesbrough manager Pulis was appointed on 13 November following the departure of Garry Monk but won just one match, a 1-0 victory at home to Coventry on 19 December.

Wednesday lie second bottom of the table on 13 points, three from a position of safety.

I'd like to see us sign a experienced goalscorer.
Score more than 2 a game I think we would go up automatically.

I totally agree 55282, although its easier said than done. If Lowe maintains his recent goal scoring form then that will help considerably.

Agree with Matt - won't get an auto spot but capable of the play offs.

I've been expecting our bubble to burst for weeks but we're still slugging it out and what a great defensive record. Has Jamal turned a corner? It looks like he's full of confidence now.

It would be great to be promoted just to celebrate the achievement, although I'm not too sure I'd relish a season of struggle after that. I would get to see all the games though

If we don't get promoted I'd still be happy with just that "elusive double" :emoticon-0130-devil

After the other night maybe it will be Brentford champions and the rest chasing Norwich for second?

On another thread earlier this week, I suggested that the automatic places would be between Norwich, Bournemouth and Brentford.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Brentford crowned Champions - we may not like Franks, but no matter how grudgingly we say it, he has moulded a very good team - and had to cope with 2 of his star players from last season leaving.

I guess people will look at Brentford, Bournemouth and Norwich, but with a couple of shrewd signings and a little luck with injuries we can challenge them, we have for the first half of the season so why not the second half. Plus having Gibbs white back will be like a new signing.

so for me a four horse race and we have every chance of being in the top 2.

It’s the way we go now. Young hungry players, boy has a good record this year 13 in 15 for Crawley. Also England schoolboy in 2017 that would have put him in coopers squad I think
