So who's watching? It's in Glasgow this time, nice to see another great sporting event in the UK after London 2012. Amazing to see how large the British empire once was. Apparently they could have sold out Celtic Park twice over with the interest in tickets but keep mentioning how it won't be as good as 2012.
What have they done to the area around Celtic Park? Probably the roughest, deprived **** hole I have seen. Proper horrible.
I heard on the radio today, that they expected a billion people to be watching. I'm surprised that many people are interested.
I don't think they've done anything to the area, i don't think they've built anything new have they? Either way this ceremony was woeful, the best thing about it was seeing all the athletes come out. Strange how somewhere as small as the UK owned all these countries once
I liked the opening ceremony. It was never going to compare to London 2012 due to budget and many other factors but what it did do was not try to compete and did not take itself too seriously. Loved the dancing chocolate tea cakes, Scotty dogs and the ballet dancers to the Proclaimers song. It was all in all very very Scottish. John Barrowman was a camp as Christmas and it was quite a brave move to have a gay kiss in it when there are many countries competing where gays are classed as criminals. Good on you Scotland I say but I bet I am in the minority on here.
Bet Salmond enjoyed the dancing Tunnock's Tea Cakes. They should've had the Wembley goalposts up and have a group of tartan clad nutters tear them down.
Mo Farah has withdrawn due to not recovering from sickness bug. The Brownlees are on today as is Wiggo. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28062001 Take the 'which sport are you made for' test. I was squash and long distance running.
so was I and I am 48 and according to bmi, seriously overweight (slightly portly but a big bloke so means jack ****). The real Irony is, due to back problems due to car crashes I can no longer do either but they are two of my 3 favourite participant sports. The other being football
