My ex once asked me what I wanted for my birthday.

“Nothing more than I can afford” was the answer.

    I've never actually been married.

Some may say I'm a chicken. I consider it wisdom.

Been close a few times, then went, nah **** that.

When I first met my (now inexplicably ex) wife, I made it very clear to her that what you see is what you get, and I wouldn't be changing my habits or personality for her or anyone else.

She agreed, but then spent the next 15 years trying to change me; after which she gave up and ****ed off...

We always go for a meal to celebrate the anniversary or sometimes a few days away. Never bother with Valentine's, it's for courting teenagers after all. We also do our own thing at times, but she never comes to football, that's a blokes domain imo. We all change a little bit when married, part of growing up I guess.

We got married in a registry office and hired a place for the piss up. Used money we would have spent on a church do as a deposit on a house

Hate going with my Mrs to the footie - we always end up getting there late, she spends all her time on the phone and then wants to leave about 10minutes before the end, regardless of the score.

I have however found the ideal solution by only going with her to Man United using the Company Season Tickets as I don't really care if we don't see the whole match and then going on my own on train when I watch Newcastle play so I can meet up with the guys off our forum and have a few beers as well.

Its compromises like that are the key to a long and happy marriage.
