hahaha... City it is. Liverpool seem to be buying everyone right now. I even saw Haidara on the A1 earlier with a sign saying 'Liverpool or bust'.
A few reports seem to be linking us with Divock Origi at Liverpool and well as Loic Remy Brighton/Burnley/Wolves in for Gayle apparently
I think the activity this week will be more about people leaving than coming in and suspect the club will be hoping to keep in contention until January and be in a better position to make some decent January signings with this money, combined with a bit more TV money by then.
This Is Anfield are reporting that we are one of eleven clubs interested in him, and that Marseilles have already made a firm bid. Can't see us coming out on top of that one!
Aw sweet, we're chasing the same crap we have for months. Who else just knows we're guns spend all deadline day putting in seemingly large, but actually pathetic, bids until its far too late to get any players. Those same players we've had all window to look at. By the way I wouldn't take Remy over Gayle, which feels like the direction we're heading
But for £18m will we even be able to shift Gayle? http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...e-transfer-news-Dwight-Gayle-Leeds-United-18m I'd snatch someones hand off for £15m tbh so if we can flog him for that much we could at least invest in a decent replacement - not Remy though.
Leeds are basically our only hope now redknapp and brucey have had their hands taken off the purse-strings. Looking at their business this summer they are going for interesting foreign imports so I don't see it. Like you say it would be very Newcastle to get rid of a player who scored plenty last season, still has potential, and replace him with a 32 year old, on loan, who's barely saw the pitch since he left us
Their decision ultimately - but he did a decent, if unspectacular job in the games he played for us last year Was only here for the Championship, so fair play to him and good luck
Norwich have apparently agreed a fee for Hanley Also it seems Leeds are no longer interested in gedeste and are persuing other strikers (Gayle?)
