FIFA holding their election today - there are five candidates: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35654894

The organisation is also pledging to put other reforms into action today, in order to try and rebuild FIFA's reputation.

'A new era' Come off it DTLW <laugh> <laugh>

It's all the same people within the organisation, nothing will change massively. Prince Ali seems the best in my eyes but the FA aren't voting for him.

We need a NEW governing body, not a rehash of this one.

Indonesia and Kuwait to have their membership suspended.

Canover Watson, Cayman Islands official jailed for seven years, has been officially dismissed from FIFA.

I'm still highly sceptical. As you say, I wonder how much FIFA can really change. The optimist in me is hoping they'll sort themselves out, due to financial reasons related to sponsorship if nothing else.

It'll be nice not to have Sepp Blatter lording it up though.

I still think it needed independent bodies to help with the reforms but only one of the candidates would sign upto that. I wonder why...

Whilst not squeaky clean, you will always get corruption once you spread outside Europe. The rest of the world operates on a different planet to us...they are just not as horrified as the average Brit. Not going to happen, but I'd rather dump the lot and just play within European boundaries. Just summed up my political views as well.

Sorry, just having a grumpy day. :(

Apparently Blatter has said that he still knows he is president. Is he quite right in the head?....that's something Charles I might have said and he had the excuse that he lived centuries ago. Blatter is plainly delusional.

Yes, I read something about that too. I came to the conclusion that he thinks he's akin to President of the United States, where once you've been Mr President, you're always Mr President, until the day you die.

Well you weren't a president of the USA or any other country, Blatter, you poor deluded person.

    Ta. And corrupt.

Somehow, I don't think he thinks so. I think he really feels he's done nothing wrong.
