Me too, much rather we were in the competition but actually not this year. I don't think we would manage very well with the added fixtures.

Really hope we can qualify again soon.

European nights are special for players and fans and our history.

In the meantime always fun to see a club with more ambition and potential than us losing to part timers

If we had the added strikers of the calibre of Mane and Pelle we'd do just fine. Personally, I think the current defensive 6 [VVD in there somewhere] is as strong, perhaps stronger than, it has ever been. And the attacking midfielders just need the quality in front of them. Notwithstanding Gabbiadini, who is already top notch, but he needs a different kind of service, that is, don't bother crossing the ball. Play through instead. But do it early enough for him to capitalise.

If you remember Schneiderlin being good, don't search for him on Twitter.

I do and I won't. His best has always been at Southampton. I'm sort of hopeful that Koeman can do something with him. Just not against us.

I'm not keen on stats but for those who are looking for some help please... @Qwerty maybe?

Having a debate with a mate and wondering if anyone knows where I can find all time PL shot/chance to goal ratio.

Had a look but can only find individual seasons rather than all time... Though I have a suspicion this sort of thing may only go back around 15 years or so.

Oh god not sure sorry, I just google stuff. If you can't find it then it might not be out there, a lot of older data gets sold by people like Opta so not online.

WIth Fifa 18 releasing tomorrow I thought I'd say this.

    Don't buy it. Seriously don't.

It's an incredibly broken game that quite frankly should not be on the shelves. It's really disappointing to say this as I am a huge fan of the series and loved Fifa 17. This years though is awful. I've played about 30 matches across the different game modes so far and I think that's enough to make a judgement.

I'm not being a sore loser or just generally rubbish at the game because I've won over 2/3s of my online matches (played about 20 or so).

    Here's why it's broken:
    - The goalkeepers are non-existent. Have a shot anywhere in the box or just outside that's on target and it will go in. If you don't believe me then please just type in Fifa 18 and keepers into the twitter search bar and you will find a whole host of people with the same feelings.

    - crossing and heading is too overpowered. I scored a hattrick of Boufal headers in one game. I think that is enough for you to understand. But in general any cross you put in, neither the goalkeeper of defends with go for it, almost like it's programmed to go in.

    - pace. Don't buy any of the crap about tactics and having to work for a goal. As long as you have a fast player then not even the best defenders will stop them.

Obviously this works both ways. I've exploited it online and scored stupid numbers of goals. But good luck to anyone trying to keep a clean sheet.

This isn't a rant by the way. Just some consumer advice before people pay 50 quid for what is a very poor game.

Bit early really. Pro Evo actually felt like a proper football game. And on the hardest settings was bloody difficult. The number of damaged Sony hand controllers that are spare parts in a drawer at home, after being thrown to the floor, are embarrassing in number. ;)

Sensible Soccer was the first football game I owned on the SNES. I must've only been about 7 and probably played on the easiest setting, but I remember if you got it to the winger and just crossed the half way line and hit the blue button on the controller the ball would fly into the opposite top corner everytime.

Pro Evo 5 (or 6) is still the best football game I've ever played, the one where Adriano was God. Fifa has always been ****, played all of them since it overtook Pro Evo (2009ish from memory) but it has always been the same to me. Realistic, yes, better with the kits and club/players names, yes, more in depth leagues, yes. But just no where near as fun as Pro Evo in its time and every game feels almost identical on Fifa.
