https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/...nd-vs-kosovo-southampton-fc-10-september-2019 Southgate praising Saints' hospitality...well, he'd hardly complain, would he? On Sky this morning the atmosphere at St Marys was compared favourably with Wembley...crowd made more noise and could be heard reacting to the play because the crowd was closer to the game. So all Saints have to do to improve the atmosphere at SMS is to score 5 goals....easy-peasy.
Large number of Kosovo fans in the home end. And it was all absolutely fine. Just slightly surreal queueing to get into SMS with away fans in front and behind me in the queue. Watching how quickly England pass the ball is something else compared to what we've had to sit through for the past three years there.
I was sat in the Northam right by the Kosovo fans and the atmosphere was superb. There were also a whole row of Kosovo fans right in front of me. Definitely chose the right end for entertainment!
The Premier League have conducted a review into the use of VAR and have concluded that 4 decisions that should have been overturned weren't: The Man City penalty shout v Bournemouth The West Ham penalty shout v Norwich Tielemans should have been sent off v Bournemouth The missed handball for Newcastle's goal v Watford https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49683036
VAR: got 6 right, 4 wrong so, complete waste of time then https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49683036
How many matches until we see a big improvement in your eyes then, we've had over 50 so 100? 500? 1000?
I'm pleased they've been reviewing its use. Like I've said previously, referee's will have been told about this. It's a learning process.
Rather than blindly protect VAR, we should be asking questions like; 'How did they miss that?' It needs to improve. 40% wrong is terrible.
