Lies about people and the subsequent cover up. Him being out of his depth and making poor decisions is understandable to an extent. The aftermath wasn't. I don't have to agree with the courts either, remember when loads of people here were calling Ched Evans a rapist post his conviction being overturned?
He didn't set out to harm anyone! ________________________ But his actions led to people dying. No sympathy.
I understand that it was an accident, but it was the subsequent cover up that has made the situation worse. And how it could get worse for the families of the 96 after losing their love ones that day is really shameful. Hopefully things have been learned from the awful events of that day.
The coroner found that the 96 were killed unlawfully. If Duckenfield is innocent, then who is guilty?
How ****? Prison ****, or early retirement on a good pension ****? Intent means nothing with the charges he faced too btw. He also set out to harm people during the lies and subsequent cover up.
Always felt like that ruling, along with the one stating the Pool fans played no part in the disaster, was the real justice.
The lies started on the day, remember the cause was 'Liverpool fans broke down a gate" - the seed for the cover up was sewn in the immediate aftermath, based on lies he told. My point was more that whether or not he had intent to hurt people is irrelevant to the crime he was accused of.
I just popped over to see what was being said on the Liverpool board and it seems they have agreed not to discuss it, as it might prejudice any forthcoming trial. Not sure whether I agree but I think we should probably be guided by them. Happy to listen to other’s views though. What do you think?
I just left a message of support on the Kenny Dalglish Public House thread over there but didn't mention the trial. I noticed a couple of others from here had done the same on a different thread, which is now locked. I'm sure they will appreciate messages of support and after all, they are fans just like us.
Which forthcoming trial? I know they shut their Hillsborough thread before the first trial but I thought that was it now hence my comment. Wouldn't have posted it otherwise. They re-trialling the ex Wednesday Chief Exec too?
Unbelievable again from Glasgow Rangers. I feel they have done very well to all but qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League having come through against Porto, Feyenoord, who are technically better teams. How much is Alfredo Morelos worth? There must be plenty of suitors looking at him in the hope of prising him away from Rangers in the transfer window, but for Rangers´sake I hope they can keep all their players. Another player who is getting rave reviews is Ryan Kent, who seems to have done himself no harm is switching from Liverpool´s bench to a starting place in the Gers team. With a revitalised Rangers, it seems to have helped Celtic raise their level.
