I actually feel quote saddened by this. Pep's side are terrific to watch and are immensely talented. I get the fact that the Saudi influence is not great for football in general (ditto PSG and French football coverage on TV) but the competition will be worse without City. Would much prefer they won something than Liverpool. Arsenal, Chelsea or Man utd - as if the last could ever happen!
No sympathy at all from me. Spending money like they have done and bringing through no British academy players just pisses me off. At least Liverpool develop their own players sometimes.
There isn't any Saudi influence at Manchester City is there? Pretty sure they'll appeal anyway so can't see it applying to next season. Could be the end of FFP...
It’s also pretty inconsistent, i think PSG were way more guilty than this. I think also Cortese kept rejecting thE idea of FFP in the EPL, as what business, and football is a business, has imposed restrictions on how it can grow.
Depends how long the appeal takes surely? Might not be settled either way prior to the Summer in which case they'll have to suspend it.
Yeah but to be fair, only Lallana was 'one of our own'. The rest we pinched just as Liverpool did from us.
You watch, Man City will win this year's Champion's League, but be unable to defend it for two seasons. It will be in a question in Trivial Pursuit in 2050.
Just seen the disallowed Wolves goal from last night. Silly imo. Maybe we should let each side have 2 VAR appeals per game similar to cricket, win the appeal and you keep it. I don't think Leicester would've seen much to appeal about there for example. VARs taking so much time as it is in some games I'm sure it wouldn't be much of a problem.
Serves the arrogant tossers right, couldn't happen to a nicer club. Now ban man £ity women from Europe and we'll really be talking.
Yes, because no team in the history of professional football has ever bought players or paid wages. Face it, every single trophy is bought, one way or another, unless the team is made up of unpaid free transfers. Man £ity however have circumnavigated ffp, distorted the transfer market and have one of the highest spendings overall in Europe if not the world. Not to mention they're being bankrolled by a nation with an appalling human rights record. Yes I know gaydamak was allegedly funded by gunrunner money, but I was a naive teenager then so cut me some slack (plus, I'm not sure that was ever proven)
It has only just occured to me that if this ban is upheld, it could well lead to 2 years of 8th place (cup dependant) being a Europa League spot. Interesting times.
Porto's Moussa Marega quits match over racist abuse at Vitoria Guimaraes - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51526210 Would anyone else have liked to see his team mates back him rather than trying to force him to stay on?
That trully noble institution, Real Madrid, would like the same authorities to look.at PSG's dealings, unless of course they sell Mbappe (spelling) to them for a knock-down fee.
