All three goalkeepers for Comoros are injured/have Covid, so they’re going to have to use an outfield player today for their last 16 AFCON match.
Elche played Real Madrid in La Liga, yesterday at the Bernabéu, and came back from 2-0 down to get a 2-2 draw. Excellent result for a small town you can drive straight through, in little more than 5 minutes.
Ok, back off. I’ve already bagsied it. 2 months, sack, Spain. It’s all arranged. You can have it after me.
Comoros have their left back in goal and had a player sent off after six minutes. Still 0-0 against Cameroon after 25!

The international break is upon us, and you know what that means: it's time for another Canadian Men's National Team Update. Beginning Thursday, Canada plays two away matches against the bottom sides in the Octagonal, Honduras and El Salvador, sandwiched around a home match against the United States. On paper, it's an extremely good chance to confirm entry into the World Cup proper. Honduras has yet to win, and is all but eliminated. El Salvador could well be all but mathematically eliminated by the time that match rolls around, as well. And while the US is always a dangerous team, they're far more beatable off their home turf: they have 5 points from 4 away matches thus far, versus 10 from 4 at home. There is a note of caution however. Canada will be missing its best player in Alphonso Davies, thanks to myocarditis after a bout of COVID. Stephen Eustaquio, who has been a revelation in midfield, has been named to the squad but may also miss some/all of the matches owing to a positive test. And the travel schedule, from Central America to Canada and back again for three matches in seven days, is extremely punishing. Canada hasn't slipped up yet, but there are banana peels present. 4 points from the 3 would leave Canada in an excellent position entering the final window; even 3 from 3 would likely leave them holding down an automatic qualifying spot heading into the last round of games. Any more than that and you can pretty well begin popping the corks on the champagne.
