I went for Charles on the basis that he is due some luck plus with the high temps merc may not have fixed their issues! Plus I am not sure if Red Bull's recent form will continue. Hopefully a good race.
At the moment it is very hot, going to be 40 degrees Celsius, however as Manny will no doubt be sure, the FIA are rigging the weather for the weekend so that Mercedes won't have to suffer in the heat so that the corrupt non-sport that F1 is can be sure of another Merc/Hamilton walkover. Temps will be down to 26 degrees by the weekend with a chance of thundery showers. See, F1 is just so biased in Mercedes favour they even have Mother Nature on the payroll.........
William's have turned up with monster of an upgrade. Fingers crossed they can get close enough to race somebody, anybody.
Melbourne Haas quicker than their current car, that's awkward. Russell just 2 tenths off the back? Have they actually made progress?! Actually - Kubica has the upgraded car for Friday, they're being installed on Russell's car overnight. So you'd expect Russell to make a big jump in FP3. Awkward for Kubica that with the massive update package, he wasn't quicker than Russell.
So he was, BBC live timing must have been behind when I checked it at the end of the session. In which case, Kubica that close to the back of the pack would suggest Russell might have a chance of getting off the back row of the grid in quali.
Merc toying with the rest as usual? Up there on times just using the mediums. I wonder if they'll use the softs at all in free practice. Just strap em on in quali and kill everyone. It's a shame though, I'm enjoying seeing Vettel and CLC battling at the top of timesheets.
That Andrew Benson is bitter when hamilton isn't fastest lol makes excuses that's he's on the harder tyre when he wasn't and that it's going to be cooler at the weekend. Sounds worried that Mercedes won't have the fastest car as usual.
You have a read of any practice reports when Hamilton isnt fastest. It's like a template. <Insert picture of Hamilton> <insert Driver> was fastest in free practice 1/2. Hamilton however was in 2/3/4/etc but a)was on harder tyres B)made a mistake on his fast lap C)hampered by the weather
So presumably Mercedes will replace the W154 chassis with a proper 2019 chassis for quali? I appreciate they're being nostalgic and all that but no need to run at 1950's speeds. Or, is there a genuine 3 way fight for the top like in Austria?
