Watched a documentary tonight about Georgia Hall, by no means the first time I've heard of her but I didn't know much about her before. Likeable character with bags of talent and most importantly balls of steel. Feels like she's been around for a while but she's only 26 so could achieve a lot.
Tiger offered nearly a Billion dollars for LIV. Glad he turned it down, granted hes not short of a Bob or two. But still glad he fuked it off.
I've quite enjoyed Westwood, Poulter etc squirming like ****. I wish the footy journos grilled managers/players like that tbh.
Thank you for sharing with us marra, personally l am quite happy for people to leave employment of one employer to better themselves but, this lot want the best of both worlds. The fact it is Saudi blood money is another issue which doesn't sit comfortably with me
Obviously as the golfers say, they are independent contractors and can decide to play for the Saudis for lots of money. Although as I understand it most are not worrying about the cost of petrol? I assume that the PGA Tour is an independent organisation also, who for those eligible, seeks to promote winnings and fame and increase Golf's popularity for all. With the court case, we will find out if the PGA can refuse entry to those damaging the tour and the majority of professional golfers. As far as I can see the sport's washing Saudis are not really about golf as such, they have another agenda. Whilst I have always admired Tiger the golfer, Tiger the man has at times come up short. However in turning down £650m, even though my guess is he is not short of a bob or two, he has rose in my estimation. Ie he cannot be bought...
Stenson's caddie pocketed $435,000 last week for his win. Its really sad what's happening to golf right now, I'm thinking that next years Ryder Cup will be played by players we've never heard of competing, But from someone I know someone who works for Saudi's PIF and they are going nowhere, they will spend as much as it takes. Sadly the same for Newcastle, the Next few years will be an interesting watch
Interesting times, the only looser will be golf. A major obstacle is TV rights as it can be seen on You Tube but will a TV network take it up? I remember Kerry Packer and his cricket breakaway, which is very much in the same vain.
I was told, negotiations are under way for TV rights... Also, major sponsorship deals are in the pipeline
Any idea which company, would be a kick in the balls if it's Sky. Maybe Amazon as they are putting more sport on their platform ?
Really not sure, But my contact reckons outside money will pour in via TV rites and sponsorships pretty soon.... There will be more PGA names announced soon..the money is simply too much to ignore. With the European Tour being funded by DP World (Dubai based) company, the word is....there could be some collaboration with LIV and European tours...but thats more speculation than anything
