A young lad comes home from work at 7pm; His dad says "Where were you? "I was with Jessica." He replied. "What were you doing?" "We were doing a bit of overtime." After picking a snack off the table the son says "These fishcakes are lovely." Dad replies "Wash your hands son; they're doughnuts."
FairPlay to this guy for setting the bailiffs onto a company (Wizz Air) that thought it was too big to pay him what he was due, after they ignored his request for a refund following their having cancelled his flight, 3 hours before it was due to take off. Dad Sends In Bailiffs To Get Airline Refund Bailiffs showed up at an airport demanding a refund for a family whose flights were cancelled. The collectors told the airline to cough up £4,500 or they would confiscate property or even a plane. Russell Quirk, 55, took action after Wizz Air axed his family’s trip to Portugal three hours before take-off. He had to fork out for last-minute flights plus extras. The dad-of-four said the airline ignored emails and court letters. So he sent bailiffs to Luton Airport. Russell, from Shenfield, Essex, said: “Their option was hand over the money or bailiffs would take it in goods, whether that be in chairs, computers or an aircraft. Wizz Air paid.” The airline apologised and said it was working on improving customer care.
I love watching the tv show about sending in the bailiffs. In one they walked into a top end restaurant and closed it because of an outstanding debt to a supplier. Sometimes the little guy can get justice.
Not the Nine O'clock News was at a different level to most other comedy sketch shows IMO. The jokes from then are still as funny today. This is one of my favourites which, although clearly dated, sums up judges nicely or at least how we like to think of them.
My father-in-law has been working incredibly hard over the past few years on this (and there’s a book to follow). It’s an amazing story if you have any interest in The Troubles.
Good man! Peter’s coverage over the past fifty years has been incredible. He’s like Attenborough when it comes to this stuff!
