Experts agree that getting out into the open is good for us and also that walking in the woods helps our mood because of chemicals trees give off. Do you get out and about much? The open air is free and readily accessible so there isn't really an excuse for not experiencing all that nature has to offer. I get to the park most days with the dog and she gets taken out to some superb walks around Surrey, Hampshire and Kent at the weekends. Apart from mongs who think the countryside is racist, air is racist, inner city architecture is racist etc is there any reason not to indulge in a bit of greenery every so often? Feel free to post suggestions of where your favourite walks are, even if they are long walks off short piers.
I deliberately walk close to folk like you to cause you angst. I was out a few weeks ago on a run and some woman crossed the road to avoid my BO slip stream so I made sure I crossed over with her just to piss her off. Not wearing a mask really sees the unhinged go berserk internally. They won't say anything to me because I'm a hard looking ****.
I don't tend to see too many old c.unts who look unhealthy as I stroll about the countryside like some latter day Tom Bombadil gamboling through the woods and glades with my dog. Most unhealthy old c.unts I know tend to congregate in pubs nursing a pint and liver failure when they aren't stood outside wheezing through another Benson & Hedges.
Nothing I like more than to strap my finds pouch round my waist and go out into the fields for a day of trudging up and down digging up treasure.
I don't drive, never have, so I used to walk absolutely everywhere. Not so much in the last 2 years due to back and legs issues. I love walking and generally taking in everything. I stay right next to the Old Railway Line (Deeside) and that's a good 10 mile walk with lovely scenery, bang in the middle of the city as well. I'm a poof right enough, so that probably explains it. I like trees and flowers and stuff.
If your back and legs play up, due to a history of excessive anal shenanigans I dare say, perhaps cycling would be easier?
There’s an abandoned railway line that runs from Finsbury Park to Alexandra Palace, via Highgate Woods. It’s now a nature reserve. There’s even a colony of Pipistral bats living near it, in the old Highgate Tunnels, but I’ve only ever seen one flying once, at dusk. You can often hear woodpeckers tapping away in the trees, but never seem to see them either. Shy creatures I suppose. Jays are quite a common sight though, and loads of tits and chaffinches.
Yeah, that sounds great. Old railway lines can be a haven for nature. I really miss walking everywhere, it's amazing how you take things for granted. The Lockdowns have proven that, just meeting up with people and going for a coffee and such like. I don't think any of us will take the simple pleasures in life for granted again even though things will never ever be "normal" again.
I'm afraid not. I'm being operated on next week after 3 years of problems. The last 2 years have seriously limited my mobility and am in constant pain. I don't think purchasing a Penny Farthing would be beneficial to one's health. please log in to view this image
