OFH, friends of ours were supermarket shopping in Toulouse this morning. All went OK until checkout when they were informed they were limited to just a small amount of alcohol.?

    What are the new limits?

No idea. I haven't seen any restrictions on it. Wine after all is an essential item.

    Evening All,
Odd goings on in the field opposite yesterday: the local farmer has had trouble with this field since last harvest when he couldn't get that done properly, followed by real difficulty ploughing it following a hard frost and culminating yesterday with goodness knows how many tankers of organic phosphate turning up. Much of the field is sodden by the looks and the field access is a right mess. Quite what is going on I don't know... any ideas?

Ground sodden, you say? Is it to be a new housing development?

So true.. There is this development a couple of miles down the road from ud, being built on farmyard and the whole building site is wet wet wet, they have created a small lake to drain the water into.. Crazy...

Meanwhile good day one and all.. Take care..

Morning all. It was quite a cold night, but without any frost, and now the sun is fully awake it is starting to warm up quite nicely. The network of English speakers is growing by the day over the internet. There are some who have the most basic knowledge of French, and really do not understand what the government is telling them they must do. Yesterday a new format for the certificate we must carry was issued, not so different from the last one, except you are now having to fill in the time that you left home. Within minutes almost downloads started to appear on my computer, with notes for those who didn't realise there had been a change. These were coming from people that I don't know, but are friends with friends, and get forwarded on. There are some people that I do know who because of their age and health conditions are very venerable, and are really quite frightened by it all. It is good to know that these people can be helped, and some of the fear that they have removed.
Have a safe day all. <ok>

Drat - with all the self-isolation and social withdrawing going on, I totally forgot this yesterday.

Happy - er - Old New Year everyone...

We did a short drive to drop off some baby cots etc in the front garden of her house for my goddaughter. Then a walk on the moors. Home to a delivery from our local Italian family restaurant, trying to stay open.
Judging by the news tonight perhaps our last forage out.
We then have stood outside in celebration of our great NHS and care workers at 8. 00.
Very touched to hear neighbours all around...
Have a good night every one... Another day awaits..

Not yet it's not. Most of the new development around these here parts are already underway and with RAF Halton due for closure I sincerely hope not. Too much as it is round these here parts as I'm sure Frenchie will attest.

Yes, the whole area is becoming a giant housing estate. Just north of Aylesbury thousands of houses have been built on a flood plain, and still more are going up. Bicester was once a sleepy little market town, but they are now wanting to turn it into a city.

Yup, and here too, particularly around Aston Clinton. Seems to me that they're determined to turn Aylesbury into a metropolis swallowing up Stoke Mandeville, Bedgrove, Aston Clinton, Wendover and all the other villages round and abouts.
