Thanks. I think the orange dots are just out of alignment on that screenshot. On the website, drilling in on the map shows that the bulk of those 983 are actually in England - which in itself tells a story. Will have look later to see if any are actually in France. I'm intrigued by the ones in Africa and South America - a few years of ago I even received a thank you email from a teacher in the Cook Islands. Most of my resources are to do with Maths, Problem Solving strategies and thinking exercises - have long been amazed at the number of children who have never been taught how to listen, think things through and connect pieces of information together.
Crazy eh.. I have at least one FB friend eho believe Coronavirus is a plot to install 5g and take over the planet... And you cant discuss rationally..
Morning all.. I have just been enjoying Chris Packham s wildlife programme on FB... I wonder what to do today...
Morning all. Bright and sunny again, but today that cold blustery wind has disappeared making it feel much more comfortable to be outside. My shopping expedition into town, the first for 10 days was very odd. I had downloaded the latest version of the paper I needed, filled it in, yet once again no sign of the police to check it. To be honest it would have been a total waste of their time as there were so few cars around. The largest supermarket had a restriction of one person, one trolley to keep the numbers inside to a minimum. It was quite funny watching the men with their shopping lists clearly having no idea where anything was kept. Mme was in charge of the trolley, so I did the essential bits in the cave, rushed around gathering bits that I knew were wanted, then disappeared outside. No cash or cheque transactions, only cards, which is a problem for some people. All of the shelves were full, but sometimes with replacement items rather than the items you normally buy. Big difference was on the salad and fruit counters, where all of the produce from Spain was missing, replaced by French items. Popped along to the next supermarket for a few items we normally buy there. The cashier was sat in a large plastic tent that went all of the way up to the ceiling. Again a request to pay by card, but they would take cash if necessary. Again the Spanish crops were missing. It was all so strange not to have an out of control shopping trolley getting you round the ankles, but everything had been done that is possible to protect both the staff and customers. Have a good day one and all.
Have a good one Frenchie.. We have all but exhausted the white wine.. Sadly, or not, we now have to drink the Sancerres and Chablis, our special occasion whites. Still got about 48 reds..
Just delved in a bit more - there's only one in France, from somewhere in Lyon. A few more popped up overnight - one from the Seychelles, two from Ho Chi Minh City, three from Moscow and one from Christchurch. Truly amazing.
Knowing that we have a very generous bunch on here, I feel sure that although it is late, we would all want to wish Chris Grayling a Happy Birthday. Yes he was actually an April Fools baby. He was celebrating with a take away pizza, even if he did ask for a ferry.
Morning, Dave; morning, all About to go to sleep, but just noticed you were up, Dave, so I thought I’d wish you a good morning.
Morning all. A lovely blue sky up there this morning, and not a cloud in sight. Managed to get a bit more ground prepared yesterday afternoon for some planting, and will have to get and move more foxgloves as I want to prepare a couple of trenches for my runner beans. Last year it was so hot and dry they didn't do terribly well despite all of the compost I put beneath them, but hope springs eternal they say, so I will have another go this year. Enjoy your day whatever you are doing.
Good morning - sunny but cold and windy up here - we just had ten minutes of hail too. I had a rather disturbed night - my good lady wife woke me at 2:30 with the news that she had snapped the flush handle off the toilet... In the middle of a lockdown period; When hardware stores are shut and we're not allowed out anyway; When plumbers aren't allowed to travel; When she didn't bother to mention that her offering to Cloacina, the great goddess of the sewers, had blocked the toilet too. I sometimes wonder why we allow women on the same planet as us... Hope you are all well.
