The Chairboys have saved their longest away day of the season for the last day when they head for the north east coast to take on the Boro at the Riverside this will be our second visit to the the stadium and our third visit in all having lost 1-0 in the FA Cup in 1975 and 2-0 in the League Cup in 1998 we go into the game level bottom of the table but still without an R by our name although we have known our fate for weeks and after a great win last week the lads should be full of confidence. Gaz will be waiting on the fitness of Adeniran and Knight who both went off injured last week but Tafazolli Wheeler Horgan and Obita are all pushing for a Start. We will be back
To get to the last day of the season without the R by the side, is great going when you look back to the league table at Christmas time
We've scored more goals than Derby and Birmingham and equal with Notts F Interestingly, when my eldest grandson attended the Football academy in England in 2019, it was the Notts F scout who expressed an interest in him until he discovered he lived in France. Even so, he seems keen to get a trial with Wycombe but, unless they have a friendly in France this summer, it will have to wait until at least next year when he will be 16; and even then, it will depend how things are looking education-wise. Also, by then of course, he may have changed his mind (some of the birds he brings home for the occasional party are really hot - I feel quite envious; hate being old)
Only 4 teams can end up with twice as many points as us and 2 of those are already in the Premier League Norwich, the first to be promoted beat us 2-1 at Norwich and 2-0 at Adams Park Watford, also promoted, beat us 2-0 at Watford and held us to a 1-1 draw at Adams Park Not too shabby
Wrong thread for this really but the match of the day has to be Derby v Shef Wed. The bare minimum for Derby is a draw. Even the goal difference is marginal. It's a game like that the fans need to be on the Terraces. I know which way I'd love it to go but won't say it out loud. I have £10 fantasy money riding on you winning tomorrow so don't let me down.
I’m not sure about that as then Wednesdays goal difference would be better than ours, best to keep it in our own hands and knock 20 goals in.lol.
Team News Ryan Tafazolli returned from injury last weekend so could feature, while Josh Knight, Jack Grimmer and Dennis Adeniran have all been assessed following the knocks that forced them off against Bournemouth and will hope to be available. Dominic Gape, Nnamdi Ofoborh and Adebayo Akinfenwa have also been sidelined but Gareth Ainsworth mentioned to the press that all players are hopeful of featuring in the final game of the season. Looks like Gaz could be fielding a 15 man starting line up
