LFC supporters groups have demanded the return of all flags and banners from Anfield so they'll probably have to fill the void with corporate sponsors ads for their next home game.
It's a bad day for football. The breakaway clubs don't care about the fans because they now have the product that the fans created. They don't need home crowds, they can sell every ground out several times over to Corporate plastics . They can sell the media rights in the Americas, the Far East and the Middle East as well as Europe. The money they will earn will dwarf anything that they could get through the PL, UEFA or FIFA. What they fail to understand is the reason these clubs are already as rich as they are is because of the fans. I hate to use Scum as an example but without it's loyal fanbase they're no different to Bournemouth. The fans made these clubs what they are and as soon as you alienate the bedrock fans you lose the product. In the US they can move a franchise from one state to another. The PL will survive without the 6 teams. They'll also do really well in the same way that the Harlem Globetrotters do. Can you imagine the open topped bus ride around Manchester when one of them wins this League. No one will give a fk. I can't wait to hear the reaction from the Camp Nou.
They don't understand relegation! I bet they also don't understand why someone would support Grimsby (neither do I but...) Or Rochdale. They don't get why someone would go to watch a game on a freezing night in the middle of winter.
If this does go ahead I hope the Premier League have the balls to stick to their word and kick them out. I am quite happy with us competing on a level playing field with the likes of Villa, Leicester, West Ham etc but I won't stand for these "super clubs" building multi billion pound squads to play in their little league and then coming back and treating the Premier League like the Johnstones Paint Trophy. I suspect the Premier League will be terrified of losing the revenue from these clubs but in the long run they'll be better off for it if they want to be taken seriously as a competition.
The Premier League are to hold a meeting tomorrow morning of their clubs, significantly the meeting will not involve the six clubs that are part of the proposed European breakaway.
This is so Leeds. We’re on the way to promotion and a pandemic hits. We get promoted to the promised land of the premier league after 16 years and they create a “super league”. God forbid we qualify for the champions league, the ****ing earth will probably boil
According to the new league table without the gang of 6 and their results Leeds are in 3rd place just behind WHU and Leicester
Don't agree with any of it. but the timing is a proper kick in the balls. No respect for the other 14 Premiership Clubs) If all these 6 want to break free they will have no interest in where they finish at the end of the season. Arsenal and Spurs will be dadding themselves silly to get this over the line because both aren't not getting in the Champions League anyway. Liverpool's season is also finished and they know they have a job on getting onto the top 4. Top 6??????? 4 of the bugga's aren't even in the champions League slots. I really hope they do leave and it all goes baps up and they have nowhere to go. It's all these mega bucks foreign owners all they think of is money and always have. English Football means nothing to them because they not English Some of them probably don't even like Football or could even name their first team squad. it's not football to them it's a business and them £££££££ signs are the only thing they follow not History of the sport or the general Fan. The Italian clubs in this also will be clapping their hands cuz this Covid has hit them hard financially with paying out megabucks wages of course they want to join because it takes them out the crap there currently in. Pathetic the whole thing. greedy greedy barstewarts who all think they are to good where they currently are. Some need to look at their current league positions to find out actually how good they really are for a super League.
Another good point If they get thrown out what happens to their youth teams? Where do they loan these kids too? Have they really thought this through? Will they have a super League Youth League as well? Pathetic !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard a call from a Livepool fan on Talk Sport today, on the Jim ****e show. He summed it up. I'm delighted we're not in it. The real fans of the clubs who have signed up will he devastated. It will be the plastics that think it's a good idea. The Yanks don't understand the product. It's not Manure playing Chelski, it's West Brom beating Chelski 5-2 or Sheff Utd beating Manure 1-0. That's why the PL sells around the World. We have more teams who can compete on a World level than anywhere else, which is why we could still have 2 all English European finals. With no relegation the season will be over with 1/3rd of it to go for most of them. They'll still sell to the Corporates but for how long. How long before watchers (not fans) get fed up watching Real Madrid **** on Spurs? The owners won't care, once they've bled the clubs dry they'll take their money somewhere else and all these "big" clubs will be fkd. The money will be gone but they'll still have squads of players on hundreds of millions of contracts that they won't be able to get rid of.
I would like to see the FA or whoever is in charge threaten these teams with expulsion from the Premier.
I don't like threats just do it F8CK em and also any player who plays in this cr6p league is banned for life from the English game not even allowed back even to empty the refuse bins
Just listened to a podcast where everyone involved said they would want these 6 clubs kicking out of the prem, yet they all said it wouldnt happen. It wont happen because in the eyes of the broadcasters the product will be diminished.
