Evening all I think we'll see the back of Bielsa in the summer. There's enough of the fan base who wants him gone but are willing to the end of the season. TBh it will be the right time for him to go. There is no chance he can take us forward beyond this season. Who ever comes in during the summer will have a mountain to climb cos he'll need to beef up that squad whilst getting rid of a few players that are getting past in or just aren't good enough. I agree with Ristac about Kinears comments over the weekend however I don't think there has been any intention to sign players and they laid down the excuses before Christmas with that crap about only signing players who were better and now we don't want to stop youth development. What excuse will they give next week when we've gone through the window and signed nobody.
So with having no game again due to some silly break or whatever.... Other teams will rest who they csn but Leeds utd will report for extra training sessions and double helpings of murder ball. I fully expect bielsa to injure a few more of the tiny inadequate squad.
I thought it was strange we hadn’t heard from him after Saturdays defeat and hoped he was just pissed off. Then tonight checking the U23s and no sign of him, a bit worrying I hope he is okay
Hemase, he's been given more than 100 opportunities to show his class & scoring abilities, & failed miserably. How many more times? (as sung by Robert Plant). I can't think of any player in the history of our club that's failed so often & retained his employment with us. Btw, are you suggesting that since he has had 3 consecutive 'close to the player we want him to be' games, we should lay off him? Really? His scoring record in those 100 opportunities narrowly beats mine from 0 opportunities! Yup, that bad. He's scored 2 more PL goals than this old fat bloke in the stand. That is nowhere close to someone being 'close to the player that we want him to be'. How close is he, btw? Will 3 in his next 100 games make him closer to the player we want him to be? He'll never be the player I want him to be. Sad, but true.
I wanted to give Roberts another season this year. He has had opportunities but he just hasn't fulfilled the role that is needed. I think he has the talent but he just can't seem to produce it often enough. That's not good enough at this level. I don't dislike him or anything but it's best for everyone if he moves on. Hopefully he can get a run of games somewhere and get a bit of momentum in his career. It won't happen for him here. Shackleton is exactly the same. Two talented young lads that need to go and play games in order to kick start their careers. Get away from Leeds because you won't play enough.
The sheer joy that resonated around the stadium when your number went up WJ was quite unbelievable. Who would have known that 2 fat ladies could fit into one shirt...well done and take a bow No 88.
Cos they are shyte... Oh bye the way the future is getting stuffed tonight.. Over to you kinnear for comment.
I'm not trying to defend him for the sake of it. I just don't see the need for the complete hatred. Is he good enough? Probably not. Would he be better at a slightly lower level? Most likely. Is he to blame for everything that has gone wrong this season? Absolutely not but he makes a good scapegoat
I've not slated MB so far, but the intermittent playing of U23s rather than giving them a run of 3 or 4 games, and not letting them leapfrog first team players (through loyalty) is beginning to grate. It's manifesting itself in the wholesale team changes when one player is out. As a result we're all over the shop and the U23s and U18s are suffering too. The U23s are meant to mirror the first team, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
