Roca is not a replacement for Phillips

With Kalvin Phillips expected to join Manchester City in the imminent future, Leeds fans have been anxiously waiting on news of a replacement. Whilst the Marc Roca deal looks to be a formality, Leeds Utd journalist Phil Hay is confident that the central midfielder has not been lined up as a replacement for the Yorkshire Pirlo, suggesting that a third midfielder would be joining Jesse Marsch's squad this Summer!

"Roca is seen as a solution to Leeds’ perennial shortage of central midfielders but the word coming out of Elland Road is that the Spaniard has not been identified as a replacement for Kalvin Phillips."

Leeds tracking Belgium starlet

Belgium's news outlet 'La Dernière Heure' are suggesting that Leeds are closing in on Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin. The highly rated 21yo has been a regular starter over the past two seasons, but with only twelve months left on his contract, the ten times Champions have little alternative but to sell their prized asset! Raskin has since made 78 appearances, scoring four and seven assists. Genk, Club Brugge and Lille have also been linked with the Belgium U21 International.

Bumper pay day for Roca as four year deal confirmed

Sky Sport Deutschland have reported that Marc Roca is set to receive a bumper pay rise after agreeing a four-year contract with Leeds Utd. The 25yo currently earns just over £40,000 a week (£2.1m pa), but is due a 'Significant salary increase' when he joins the Whites. His medical has been booked for Friday morning, followed by a Press Conference where he will be officially unveiled as a Leeds player!

Minamino update

Leeds are believed to be one of three clubs who have opened talks with Liverpool over a deal for Takumi Minamino. The versatile forward is desperate to leave Anfield in his quest for more game time. He previously worked under Jesse Marsch at RB Saltzburg, before joining the Reds in the 2020 January transfer window for £7.25m.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, three clubs are in discussions about the Japanese star, with an expected fee in the region of €17m (£14.8m). Although he didn't mention Leeds by name, Minamino is high on Jesse Marsch's wish list, and as such, are willing to pull out all the stops to bring him to Elland Road.

News that Leeds could be 'back in the mix' will hearten Leeds fans after it was reported on Monday that Wolves were leading the race to sign the 27yo.
