Roca isn't quick, he's a decent size but he's not exactly a destroyer either. He's a ball playing pivot. Pretty good at it by all accounts but I share concerns others have about how that translates to the PL and JM's footballing philosophy. The stats say he makes a lot of good defensive contributions, it's just how he deals with the physicality of the PL.

They've seen something in him, though obviously.

Aaronson being 'lightweight' doesn't bother me and think he fits the marsch profile perfectly. Doesn't mean he or we will be a success but the first two signings appear to fit the strategy more than Roca.

Happy to slate you for it again if it helps? <cheers>. In my view he's looked better in competitive England matches when Rice was subbed. Was he lost without Rice in all the matches he's been MOM in for Leeds?

It's interesting how Phillips divides Leeds fans. I thought he was sh*t when he first came through, but think he's been exceptional for us since Bielsa came in. I don't know anyone involved in football (i'm not claiming to be 'connected' but i know a few grass roots and higher) who doesn't rate him highly. As just one example, a friend of mine is a coach (football not wallace Arnold) went to the Liverpool game where we got humped at home 3-0. He came back from the game talking about how good liverpool were but mainly enthusing about how good Phillips was in a losing cause.

Dunno if its because his errors get highlighted because of his position... or that some take umbrage with some fans over-bigging him up (which i agree can happen). Or just genuinely not rating him.

Need Este to confirm this but Barcelona skipper Pique is owed £80m in deferred wages. The players agreed a wage cut and a deferred payment during covid. This has now racked up to £80m alone for Pique but the story is that there are many more players who are owed shed loads. Part of the problem about getting rid of players is that they want the money owed to them before they agree to move?

    Off topic,
This is correct, I thought they agreed a wage cut but not exactly.
Seems most of them agreed to a wage cut of around 10%, and the rest was to be deferred.
    The total is 389m€ !
They still owe messi 70m€, a year after he left.
Their president Laporta, is now trying to reduce all the players wages by 60%.
But a lot of players are digging their heels in.
When we bought Firpo the money went straight to Betis as they hadn't paid them.
    What a mess. <laugh>

Shame Bielsa gave him next to no game time, insisting on playing James, Rodrigo or anybody else he could persuade to play up top!
