Now either Marsch is a liar or he has a problem communicating with the players. Back in the summer Marsch told the media that Firpo was first choice LB. Firpo then got injured in pre season and he said yet again Firpo is first choice LB, by this time Struijk is LB on a temp basis and Marsch confirms as soon as Firpo fit he will take over at LB. This hasn’t happened even though Firpo was fit, so I appreciate Firpo needs to get match fit but not getting any minutes at all and now he tweaks a muscle in training again.

i can see Drameh, Firpo, Joffy, Klich all peed off with mixed messaging and some say Rodrigo blew up when Bamford was starting before him recently. Yes some will say Firpo doesn’t deserve to play but in my opinion he should be given the chance when we start playing again. If Firpo is fit he should start as Struijk or any player will not be match fit after another month off, he deserves the chance to shut a few fans up, just like Rodrigo has done. Yes he may well be shyte but he is a prem footballer and deserves the chance to show us, besides I hate wasting money and £13m is a lot

 

It’s possible to consider someone as first choice. For them to play badly in matches or training… or for their replacement to play well… and for that to change the perception of first choice. It’s also ok for a manager to change his mind. No one has a right to a place in the side. Non-story for me Doc.

What we do know about marsch is that he bigs up his players in public. What he says to them behind the scenes we don’t know. We do know that many ex- players speak very highly of his man management.

 

The other side of the argument Doc is you can will players to be pl quality all you want but reality is maybe he’s not and Marsch was simply trying to boost his confidence or resale price or both

I don't think going back for ex-players is a good idea plus I'm sure Wood will remember the backlash against him when he wasn't scoring/

 

Indeed, he blocked me on twitter after I post a picture of a football in orbit after he skied a penalty.

 

Agreed and he did have a go in the media at the Leeds Utd supporters when he did leave.

 

I don’t want Chris Wood. I don’t think his goal scoring record hasn’t been good for the last few seasons.
