    I'm sure that in the process of building a new stadium and renovating what is already there they'll add extra facilities like pubs and restaurants...only trouble is they will probably be squeaky clean new places, without the character of places like the Conningham Arms and other local pubs. In case we need even more space than the Linford Christie sight, does anyone know what the 'Wormwood Scrubs pony centre' is? Is it still going? I googled it and found this image which didn't fill me with confidence;

Nice thoughts, but you just know it's going to be something like the Mittal Arena, Air-Asia Stadium or some other ****y name

MK Dons got it right. There's a hotel on site (loads within 3 miles) and many restaurants and bars all within walking distance. Parking is a small issue there, but 1,000 times better than LR.

The Air Asia Alan McDonlad stadium has a nice ring to it, the onsite pub could be the Stan Bowles Bar and the male toilets could be the 'Arry Redknapp refuse area with the ladies known as Sparkless's pissitaway emporium.

    What about the Caulker bar
Gents the ****tu facility whilst the ladies could be the doudou place and Children's named the junior hoillet
I think the food bars should be called Alan McDonald's if it hasn't been done already
The betting facilities named after joey Barton
Superstore could be the PriMark Hatley
    I'll stop now

The Linford Christie Stadium is under-used and falling into disrepair. I hope that the various resident associations, Scrubs associations and the Council can agree to let us re-locate but take a look at the AGM minutes from The Friends of Wormwood Scrubs, it gives you an idea of the kind of opposition we might face trying to develop the site.

I have always liked him and believe him to be well-intentioned. For someone supposedly incompetent I would happily be a fiver behind him!

Presumably, this wouldn't happen while FFP overhangs us.

Even if successful this has got "prolonged battle" written all over it

But then I suspect any piece of open space in West London would present the same issue, with all and sundry frog huggers and owners of 4 legged sh!tting machines attempting to block our every move

The area would be improved immeasurably by a multiuse stadium / sports facility but some people will never see this

We'll be at LR until at least 2025

East Acton is not to far and be m sure a pub or two may appear if a stadium is built.

Blimey. How long does the AGM take for this group. I used to live on Braybrook St.

That is mainly because there were open areas ready for development with the council insisting on all the extras. Plans for the stadium were underway long before the MK Dons got involved.

Show me the wide open space awaiting redevelopment anywhere within 3 miles of Loftus Road. (Except for Old Oak!).

Further email update today. Sure many of you received it too.
Consultation taking place with community groups.
So far has a different feel from Old Oak with a sense that our development would actually be welcome.
    Here's hoping.
