http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...transfers-southamptons-calum-chambers-3124412 They just wont give up! It does seem that they have a vested interest, in trying to sell our players.
I can't blame them for being interested as he was excellent against them but they can start the bidding at £30m which is our base line price for young talented English full backs....Teehee
I always think we should start counter rumours. Hey perhaps Rupert Murdoch could buy Mirror Group Newspapers. Actually, I meant from the very clubs who apparently want our players [that means every club above 9th]. I am thinking of registering on Mirror Online and telling them to bugger off with their half-baked rumours.
At least they always assume it is a top 4 club...on the basis that no player would leave us for anyone else....they have to have some credibility. Oh, it's The Mirror!
And it's ****. I wouldn't even use it for my rabbit hutch; rather buy the local rag and its adverts for that.
I doubt the top clubs are interested in our players at the moment...unless they are cheap and can be put in the stiffs as spares. Give them another couple of years with us and they could be serious targets.
Hate the thought of losing any of our players, but the article got me wondering, if one our RB's were to go, which would I prefer to stay, Clyne or Chambers?
Incredible that lots of people are calling for Chambers ahead of Clyne against Hull - not the choice itself, but the fact (that still remains true) that we were all acclaiming Clyne as one of, if not the, best right back in the league not so long ago. What a lovely embarrassment of riches we have in that position (as well as CM). Now why do we not have the vitriol in the Clyne vs Chambers discussions that we get in the Vic vs Cork ones?
Arsenal want to swap Ozil for Chambers, Chelsea want to swap Hazard for Shaw, United want to swap Rooney for Lallana and Spurs want to swap Guly for Lamela
Clyne is better at attacking and is extremely pacey. In my opinion the quickest players at counter attacking against Stoke was Clyne and Rodriguez. Chambers has height and good all round defensive ability. Excellent for his age, and his first season.
I know this is all about Nat and Calum, but I played back that part of yesterday's first half move where Davis intercepted the ball from a Stoke corner and burst upfield. Now he's no slouch with the ball, but Adam easily kept up with him [Lallana has no pace, eh..? That's a joke]. Rodriguez and Clyne took off like scalded cats, and as Adam slowed to Stoke's defensive line, Jay timed his run better to be just in the right spot, should Clyne make a cross box pass rather than shoot. Nathaniel perhaps should have done better after taking the pass from Davis, but Berkovic made a pretty damn good save. It was a good illustration that there is plenty of counter attacking pace in the team when we want to use it.
