A video by a guy whose hobby appears to be visiting football grounds. He was in these parts this week visiting some Highland League club grounds - I don't think he was impressed with the weather we've been having.
Eddie Howe has turned down the chance to become Celtic's new manager - no reasons revealed. New favourite is Aussie Ange Postecoglou - wouldn't be a bad choice imo, his team's always play attractive attacking football. I suspect that a Rangers fan doctored his Wikipedia page - claiming that he currently managed Shotts Bon Accord.
A pair of scruffy looking managers leading the teams out at Wembley - am sure GT would have had something to say about their sartorial inelegance.
That was an awful challenge by Grimes - late, nasty and looked deliberate. How he wasn't red carded is a mystery.
Holstein Kiel v FC Köln 1-5 My neighbours are very happy now - Hennes the Eighth is frolicking around as if all the nanny goats in Germany were available
Brentford will be the 50th club to play in the Premier League, next season, the PL’s 30th season. Thus 50 of 92 league clubs, or 54%, will have played PL football at some point. Opportunity: the heart of the game to the fans’ soul. What the ESL tried to kill. A great stat. and so true about football in England giving small clubs the opportunity to rise up through the divisions.
Bet the ref was pleased Chelsea scored otherwise he would have an a decision to make as Ederson handled the ball outside the area.
In the battle of the England players Chelsea's certainly came out on top. And Sterling shouldn't be certain of a starting spot at all.
Trouble at t'mill for Brechin City. They were told they had to join the Highland League after losing to Kelty Hearts, but wanted to join the Lowland League instead. A unanimous 17-0 vote by Lowland League clubs said 'we don't want you', even after receiving details of 'bribes' Brechin were prepared to offer. I'm wondering now if the Highland League clubs will expect those same 'bribes', and, if they're not forthcoming, say no to Brechin as well. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/lowland-league-clubs-unanimously-reject-24210716
I feel sorry for the whole World of football that we have to endure such a final as this between two money made clubs who don't even want to be in the Champions League !
Not to mention whose fans lived up to the 'English fans abroad' reputation and had 'scuffles' in the streets of Porto. The locals weren't impressed either - they are still locked out of football matches, still have to wear masks etc etc and are now expecting another spike in infections. I don't quite understand why the match was moved from Istanbul to Porto anyway - surely it would have made more sense to move to an English venue?
The UK Government wouldn’t let all the UEFA VIPs in the country basically so Wembley etc was a no go .
