Horrific injury in Bath last night at the National League South game between Bath City and Dulwich Hamlet. Bath player Alex Fletcher sustained serious head injuries as a result of a high speed collision with advertizing hoardings next to the pitch. The game was abandoned and he was taken to hospital immediately where his condition is described as stable but critical. Hopes and prayers are with his family at this time. These advertizing hoardings are far too close to the pitch and there have been injuries as a result (also at Ibrox recently) but none as bad as this - always tragic to think that potential problems such as this are only taken seriously when something bad happens.
I always felt uncomfortable with the proximity of the hoardings to the pitch especially at those level 10+ grounds where there are concrete posts and metal railings in front of a concrete path just a metre or so off the pitch. I'm staggered that this isn't a regular occurrence. Just hope the fella pulls through.
Luton looking for a new manager by the looks of things. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ton-boss-expected-watch-tonights-cup-tie.html
And Sean Dyche isn't interested. Can't say I blame him. Former Watford and Burnley boss Dyche rules himself out of becoming Luton manager | Luton Today
Oh dear - no wonder he wasn't picked for England. Might be facing a long ban. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63653384
To quote Captain Mainwaring - stupid boy. You have to wonder what made him think he could get away with something many others have been caught doing. I seem to remember that we were linked with him before he went to Brentford - maybe dodged a bullet there.
I'm not one to hold a grudge, but while watching the preview to the cup match between Ebbsfleet and Fleetwood I noticed that the dirty cheat Dominic Poleon is now playing for Ebbsfleet. I hope Fleetwood absolutely stuff them.
Yes - and don't forget the cold. Was hoping to do exactly that yesterday, and go to the Highland League match between Deveronvale and Strathspey Thistle, but the 2C temperature put me right off. Pity really - Deveronvale won 7-0.
Trouble at Juventus - whole board of directors have resigned. And wouldn’t be the first time either . https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63785489
