The first season of The Walking Dead was promising. Anyone see that?

 

I've watched the first 2 episodes of 'Game of Thrones' and all I can say is WOW.

It's not my usual genre but it is very very good. It's being shown at the moment on Sky Atlantic....

mrs T is reading the novels, is the show any good? apart from the Eartha Kitts on show?

 

I really enjoyed the series.. not just because there are loads of fit naked birds in it, though clearly that is a bonus.

 

I know people that have read the books and seen the first series and they all say HBO have done an amazing job.

Which let's be honest most books that are translated to screen are pretty ****.

 

I'll get it on lovefilm, the books I'll start once I've finished "Keef" Richard's book.

EDIT : on topic - also just got back from the Vue cinema, took the kids the kids AM 'Mr Poppers Penguins' - they enjoyed it I had a kip

Funny you say that, I've got it downloaded, did give it a shot but was too tired so turned it off literally as soon as I put it on.

 

One of the best films ever in my opinion - also a film you can watch over and over again.

The show is probably the best adaption from a sci-fi novel to television ever. IMO. I read an article a few months before the first season was released about the writers. Apparently the author of the books, George Martin, came to the writers personally and gave them his books and said he wanted a movie. The writers read the books, fell in love with the story and decided a 2-3 hour movie wouldn't do the story justice so they decided to make a tv show. The first season was only 10 episodes. (Apparently they filmed a shorter season just to see if they series would make it). So approximately 10 hours of story instead of 2-3. The fact the writers actually care about the story and aren't just trying to make money off someone's story, but adapt the story into a different media, keeps the story in the books intact.

The best part is they aren't the skinny anorexic hollywood girls. All the woman are fit, real looking woman...with nice tits.
