Now I know next to nothing about diving but one Tom Daley has dedicated his life to it. At his fourth Olympics perseverance and I am sure huge amounts of hard work finally sees him win a gold. And Great Britain is fifth in the medal table.

    Top good news story.

Tom Dean won gold today with contracting Covid and having to take 6 weeks out of his training and preparation for these games.

Taylor Brown in the triathlon, had a puncture in her bike. And still managed silver.

Just gutted for all these Olympians competing over there without their parents able to be with them to celebrate with.

Love the Olympics and also the Lions tour because we can all put the banter aside and be proud to be British.

I refuse to watch the Olympics on principal but obviously see clips on the telly. Some great results for GB participants and I congratulate them all on their individual success and may you get more dreams come true throughout the games. Canada is doing well and seeing our younger swimmers get some medals in the pool is even more exciting. GB and Canada at the top end of the medal table would be a perk for this old ex-pat.

The Aussies in their budgie smugglers have sneaked ahead of us in the medal table. It will be soon time to unleash the boxers and cyclists to do their job.

Quarters next in the football GB been playing in second gear.

I’ve maybe missed something again but it’s still fkning Russia isn’t it? maybe thje olympic committee too one look at the Russian long jumper Klishina and went she is stunning your in and you can be still be Russia but your the ROC.

BMX time to give BMX more money v the posh winless rowers who got nil golds and had a pop at ex gold medalists rowers and winning ex coaches after winning nada golds. Back to the winning BMX. Charlotte the British rider fell on her first run. A yank then put inm whjat the expersts thpught was the run to go top. Might as well not get on the bike thought the experts its game over. Not so goes Charlotte and nails her second run doing thimgs like forward somersaults to go from bottom to top. Daily Mail will call her a battling brit and rightly so. Big balls on that one, gold!!

Watching Max Whitlock just now, did not have a clue what they were doing or what they’re marked down on. To me it was just spiny people on a box. But found myself glued to the box watching it.
Well done Max another Gold to add to your other 2

I have enjoyed the mixed-gender relays, a great addition to this years Olympics. The triathlon quartet was amazing, as were the swimmers!

Forgot to say, I even watched the triathlon again and was willing them on. Either I’m enjoying it too much or losing my mind.

Just watched the BMX and no idea what they were doing, but **** me they are crazy ain’t they.

To my utter shame, I didn't even realise there was an 'upside down' until someone told me last year. I'd always thought the flag was symmetrical and could be flown in any position :emoticon-0101-sadsm
