Anyone else interested in losing themselves to the outside world for fours days or just me?

After the endless tedium of having jolly hockey sticks Wimbledon forced upon us by the BBC, this is a welcome relief.

Then again, just realised the BBC no longer have this! Probably not enough women or people in wheelchairs (preferably gay while they are at it) to keep them happy so they allowed Sky to waltz off with it and do an infinitely better job.

    I digress.

    My tips are;

    Jon Rahm
    Phil Mick
    Charl Schwartzel
    Tommy Fleetwood.

Would love Stenson to defend it but I don't think he will.

I've bet on Rahm the last 2 majors and he's bottled it big both times.

Not betting on him this time so if the bugger wins or gets a place it can only be personal!

I wouldn't say bottled, he's only 22 isn't he? He'll get more used to competing at this level, was very good in the Irish Open in Open conditions.

    Should contend.

    Got a chance, yeah.

Might have to stick a couple of quid each way now you've mentioned it!

It's all come together for Sergio this season . I'd stick money on him every time he plays . Had a gut feeling about him this season .... and still do .

It (The Open) suits him and the major monkey is off his back.

The greens are best for him too, not as ridiculously lightening fast as the other three majors.

    He's 20-1.

Fiver each way and you've a decent return and not lost much.

Does Nick Faldo still play? I'll go for him.

Don't listen to me. I'm just bitter and twisted!

I'd be interested in some money on Fleetwood but I'm guessing the odds aren't to good now.

    I think he's 22-1.

Was watching some film of Phil Mickelson practicing.
Of my bets, he's the one I think will actually win. Was superb last year and was only beaten by someone playing supernatural golf. I think he'll fancy himself to go one better again this time, he's got the Open sussed now.

I usually go for one of the favourites - under 20/1 for the win and 1 e/w from around 50/1 upwards.

Can't decide on the win yet so may go for 3 or 4 e/w's instead.
