Right guys. Do you feel tonights golf is a showdown? and if so is it worth putting something on Kaymer to fall back on (pretty annoying i dont have him seeing as though i selected him last week with the comments that he would return to form sooner rather than later!) I have £12 e/w at 33/1 with Willhill on spieth Stick £100 on Kaymer...or let the bet roll? I'm not usually one to cover bets etc but with 3 shots between them and the chasing pack i didnt know what the general consensus would be?
Personally I would let it roll. You are on each way and his recent Masters journey will stand him in good stead here. Bigger danger could come from Garcia if he gets off to a flyer!
Leaderboard after the 3rd round... Leaders - Spieth & Kaymer on -12... T1 - Jordan Spieth, -12 T13 - Matt Kuchar, -5 T28 - Hideki Matsuyama, -3 T32 - Jimmy Walker, -2 T37 - Ryan Palmer, -1 T37 - Ian Poulter, -1 T37 - Geoff Ogilvy, -1 T68 - Brendon de Jonge, +2 Good luck to you Smokin with young Jordan, you should be getting some return for your money today, but how much, that is the question...??? Gonna take a miracle for any of mine to feature in the top 6, and I already need 1 big miracle to happen for me today elsewhere...!!! Never mind i'll be tuning in later tonight to see the climax of what has been a good tournament...
Awful end to a great 4 days action from a personal P.O.V - Not only did my pick fall short, the player that won was touted by myself last week as a return to form was imminent! Ouch!!! However, well done Kaymer! Fantastic shooting over the 4 days!
Kaymer's put on 17 was unbelievable just when he looked to be letting it slip a little he holed a beauty to stay ahead and ultimately win the title. Hard luck Smokin, onto next week we go
Jimmy Walker shooting the joint lowest round for the day gets me a little bit back on the week, all £7.38 of it... A return is a return though... As for the ending, Well it all went a bit anti-climax and ended quite tamely... I bet Jim Furyk is cursing that missed birdie chance on the 18th as that would have got him to -13, and Kaymer might have had to go through a play-off to win it... Anyway it wasn't to be... Onwards and upwards as they say, and looking back at some of the players further down in the field, one or two of them looked to be hitting some form...
Sorry red missed ya getting a place...2 day's of binge drinking has me functioning a little under par today(sorry for the pun). Money for the next tourney sure isn't it at least It was a great birdie chance for Furyk alright but good to see Europe take it down and good to see Kaymer back.
